  1. :D not quite how it happened but yeah something like that i suppose [ thanks mate , gone right off you now \
  2. another big reason trucks arnt used in the UK is because of the weather & ground conditions , even if the fields are flat the likelyhood of going straight down to the axles is on the high side , unlike the US the UK is a fairly damp place to live . but it's ok some of us have electrickery installed & we dry out quite quickly the other reason is access to the fields , also unlike the US in the rural area of the UK we have a lot of hills ,trucks would be completely inoperable if they were to get into the field
  3. best thing about your work mart is that as soon as you find a 'new' barn it's filled with either more cattle or more tractors :D

  9. those spreaders were imported by bonhill , about 10t payload & when they worked they went well , but it has 6 bevel gearboxes on the back & they last about 10 hours > , the problem was in the casting, they would crack around the seals , letting the oil come out & shake themselves to pecies the slats & chains wern't up to much either , chicken dung was fine , but farm yard manure was too much for it at times , this i know as spent many an hour too many sometimes ,digging them out or sat underneath the replaceing gearboxes >
  10. did you ever get this particular tractor finished sean ? i remember the 2wd version you did but not this one being finished
  11. not today but last wednesday, south african spec JD 6930 the ownwer decided to send 3 back to england rather than let the manager here buy them local sort of a half breed from a top spec 69 & a 'SE' spec tractor , side mounted exhaust not cab mounted , no pickup hitch, no work lights next to the headlights & no cab worklights, no headland management , ,basicly a top spec basic tractor ! turns out it's cost a fortune getting them kitted out for UK spec & would have been cheaper to buy here ! two were stopped en-route & sent back for a re-order of two UK spec machines
