  1. Well we finished at home tonight About 5 minutes before it rained too, now skeggs are coming to clear up 180 acres of straw tomorrow and were sorted
  2. Well apart from the chaff spreader belt being chewed up and havin to stop for 5 ins to take the spreader off, aboslutely nothin and we only have 50 acres left to combine I've probably jynxed it now but hey ho!
  3. Started our wheat today, seems to be a good crop too, around 3t an acre. Straw being swaffed for skeggs to come and bale
  4. Them valtras aren't bad now gav. I'm meant to be tryin a case maxxum but god knows why because if we were to trade my MX in for one of them we would be going backwards
  5. We are on about 3t an acre I think and the quality is good, our barley looks better than it did last year.
  6. We started yesterday afternoon here, done about 12 acres so far, back at it today again then should be finished the barley by tomorrow night.

  8. yeah thats right Tris, best part of the year by far, its a wonderful sight when theres no wind and the dust just hangs there at dusk. I think we are still going to have a look tomorrow so fingers crossed for some pictures
  9. Anyone started yet? We are looking at starting our barley around thursday, and we are spraying our rape tomorrow.

  11. Thanks Tris, yeah this is the first tractor that I can say is my own, I think its better like that as you tend to look after it better if its your own machine
  12. Ohh yes, I don't think you can get a better engine note than a cummins six pot, the other say our JD 6510 sounds good but I don't think its got anything on the MX
  13. Cheers mate, well we think we will remove it and put a set of wieghts on it at the moment as although its a big tractor case's are renound for being light on the front Thanks, looks quite beefy i think Cheers mate, definatly been worth it!

Well I thought some pictures of the tractor were due again so here they are Looks so much better with all the new tires on, had the marston on her yesterday and it didn't even know it was theren also painted the wheels so they are shiny now Then one of the cab Also we decided as my wheels are bigger than the maxxums ones we swapped my mudguards round for the ones on the maxxum so now they cover my wheels better

  16. I saw a picture of an ERF artic drawing from New holland fr9000 in the farmers weekly last year, this was only a demo and they had to the lorry in as the tractors and trailers couldn't keep up
  17. we have one of these, ours is a trailed version though, we don,t mind it, not as quick as the auger but we can load a lorry with it in just over an hour provided we don't have to shovel any out the bottom of the bin. Looks good though MJB1, was it simple to do?
  18. Nope sadly thats staying It replacing a ford, i say a ford as we havent yet decided which one to get rid of yet, it's between the 6610 and the 7710. Yeah its a Y plate so not too late as to have too much new holland in it if you get me

Thanks mate I'm so pleased with it, oh don't you worry there will be plently more pics of it throughout the summer I knew you would comment on this one bas They are good tractors though aren't they, can't wait to use it properly Oh they are very nice to drive rich, brings a smile to my face everytime my right foot moves, you get the bellow of the cummins followed by the slight whistle of the turbo sounds like your gonna have one helluva summer! Thanks jack, she is nice
  20. I'd think twice about the case mate, well thats if you want half decent build quiality and not a tractor that seems like its been built by monkeys!
  21. Can't wait now Tris, I'd have it for corn cart happily over the maxxum 140, then I think I'll be pressing and rolling with her in the autumn, its got such a nice engine in it though

Well here it is, my new tractor, it now has new tires, and I've done some painting on it and shined it up with the polish, not finished yet thought, still got tod paint the rims, sort a couple of electrical problems out and she will be sorted Anyway enough of me talking, here she is in all her glory, and making that green thing look small P.S. i will get more pictures as i complete the tractor
  23. The muck spreading contractors are the ones with all the masseys and the big jaguar aren't they Gav. Saw them in the farmers guide this month, supposedly they are ment to really good!
  24. Well long time no posts, so I thought I would let you know whats happened round here lately. Firstly dads bought me a new tractor, a case MX120, pictures will be up when it comes. We have applied our first dose of nitrogen and P and K. The new sprayer has been run in and goes well. Also I will be taking my tractor test in the easter holidays so fingers crossed that goes well too!
  25. Anyone who has read claasic tractor this onth will of read that it does, apparently its a metsl one so things should be looking up for britains
