jordantaylor replied to MODELFARMER's topic in Other Conversions & Scratch Builds
well thr front tank should be easy enough and as for the planter im cutting up a siku grimme GL34Z. im having to make allot aswell but its mainly flat peices of plastic with a few bends here and there, some hydraulic rams, 2 small wheels (britains vaderstad drill ones were perfect). i might even go all out and make the grimme computer setup for in the cab -

i hope you dont mind me posting this picture here when i bought the two mdels i noticed that the injector was very far away from the tanker. when i was working with the real thing the injector was very close to the tanker and so i have moved it closer but had to put the first 2 points behind the hydraylic rams but has no affect to the model funcion just an idea for you to take in mind -

i had a look at the fendt rear mounted loader and i must say its an interesting way of using them but it might just be more for the rest of europe and not the uk market. it would be a different model to have if wiking were to make a version of it

well after all this snow melts we are going to have some really wet soil which will make for chalenging ground preparation for the spring barley. we will have to see how the john deere copes on the plough this can be something for you to think about stocking mandy- snow sprays ect... as it can make a simple model look so great and change the whole way of looking at model farms -

well it was bound to happen tris, driving on untreated icy roads ;D glad you like the scenes. ive decided to do model farm based on a winter scene nowas my scenes have just come together to form a farm which is great lots needs doing before it will be finished though, i am hoping to get hold of some buildings soon, just waiting for the seller to get back to me -
not being picky but all i meant was there are already fendt and deutz tractors with loaders but no john deere loaders so its about time a nice jd loader was released. and as for the bigger tractors with loaders there is no point as you just get a telescopic loader. i calnt think of any farmer out my way with a loader tractor above 160hp and i calnt think of many farmers that have yards or sheds big enough to get a fendt 936 in apart from the big arable boys and they use telescopics as they are more practical
-
well uh do both fendt and deutz tractors with decent loaders and the wiking fendt and deutz are to big for loader. its about time they did a jd loader as only siku have done one and really that was no use at all as the attachments didnt even fit on right

i knew id get the police 4x4 in somewhere. as we can see the snow had been cleared from the lane but had frozen overnight and was like an ice rink the next day and when this wagon came down the hill he lost the backend. fortunatly there was a tree there to stop him but. now the new holland is on call to pull him out while the police close the road and attend to the incodent -

i had a right job with the loader when painting as i was using proper john deere paint and it was almost melting the plastic parts. some of the thinner bits have melted in places and even melted right through but luckily it still move well but it did worry me. i hope wiking make some attachments otherwise ill have to use my one as i have a few attachments for it
