  3. wasnt it uh that made those russian combines recently? they seem to be showing alot of interest at the moment with tractors/machinery coming from russia and eastern europe considering the zetors they are doing too
  4. yes johnny its looking very nice, starting to look very much lke an 8160 now
  5. off work with a sore throat, its my third bout of the flu since just before christmas, every time i think its gone it comes back \
  6. animals are my weak point too, hate seeing them suffering no matter what they are even a rat, ive killed a good few by pure accident when driving machinery and ive always felt bad the worst was in new Zealand and discing cos the rabbit burows were always just under the surface ud end up discing over one with a rabbit in side and turning it up. more often then not it wouldnt be a straight kill but it would be severly injured the worst bit was going to put it out of its missery as you could see how scared it was!!!! there was also one incident there involving some ducks and about 6 ducklings, i was discing again and saw them walking around even took a few pictures of them but they couldnt get over the ruts very easily as they were too small so i said id go to another field for a while to give them a chance to go away. anyway the next day came around and i had a small bit to finish in the second field before going back to the original one, working away for awhile when on one pass i noticed two parent ducks walking around an area i had already gone over so i got out to have a look and after a bit of investigation i found four dead ducklings. i guessed they were the same ducks as the day before so searched around for a while and found the other two babies still alive cowaring in some grass....... the grass was in line with my next pass so managed to save two at least but i was disgusted for the rest of the day. i go clay pigeon shooting sometimes but only ever went duck shooting once and did kill a couple and im defidently sorry i did it, strict no shooting policy on our land now, and while dumping earth today in one of our fields i must have spotted 7-8 phesants, lovely birds. i dont mind shotting if youll eat it after but shooting just for the sake of it im pretty much against that well where the animal isnt distrupting crops etc anyway. killing a dog would be the worst of all, a few years ago i found 3 pups tied up in a bag and trown into a river, i climbed down to get them where i found one had drowned. the otheer two were still alive and beautiful dogs which im happy to say found a home, how some one could just throw them over like that though is beyond me.
  7. just out of interest i wasnt at a show before but am hoping to get to this one, roughy how many displays are usually at these shows?
  8. thanks, i just jumped off that time to take the pic but none of that heap is drawn away yet must clear another site first and it will be used as a foundation to a road then. theres a heap around the back of the shed about five times the size of that heap the machine is on so ud be fairly wrecked going from digge rto tractor all the time. when we do draw it there will be a few tractor drawing and il stay in the digger
  9. o there was boy lots :'( but tis all in the name of progress as they say, the actual yard hasnt really been used much in a farming context with around the last 10 years so it was starting to show signs of neglect (in other words it was in a sorry state ) what will be there in its place should be good though and we are keeping the traditional look and style of course. plus it beats building on a nice green field
  10. toothed bucket wouldnt really have worked either as there was so much steel thrown into that wall, the grandfather built it in the 60's and basically cut up and fired in any steel that was lying around the place you know old machinery etc so twas strong out. the part that came way only did so cos there was top soil banked against the side with a few years so damp got in and weakened the wall and there was no steel in that section for some reason. your right about the hitch though, i dont really like putting the breaker on it really but didnt have much of a choice i hired it from another contractor and its actually ment for a 13 tonne machine i think so i defidently wont be making a habit of it
  11. well its keeping me busy anyway and tis way nicer being your own boss at the moment anyway since all seems to be going good! (touch wood). diesel cost is the biggest expense at the moment. most of the yard is gone now left the sheds standing for another while for storage but theyll be all going. moved across the road yesterday and started clearing that site, but a heavy night out with the lads last night has put a halt to digging today thats one of the perks over working for someone i can take it off when i want
  12. first pic is breaking the first part of the yard in the morning a couple days after christmas
  13. checking to see ow strong the wall was it proved too strong for the bucket so braker did the trick
  14. heres some pics of what im at these days alot of the tracks and stuff were over grown and the slurry pit was full of top soil and holding pins were full of gravel so all that had to be cleared first, borrowed the landini from a friend of mine and had a 6800 from the guy i worked with in the summer, the 6800 was a bit small for the nc
  15. they look great, its amazing how much better they can look with some accessories
  16. sadly yes, it was either build them on some of our land (i.e. green field site) which i was defidently appoused to, or build where the existing yard is now, so after some arguments etc we eventually decided to go with the yard plus a few acres so at least its not as bad as covering good ground in houses. still though sad to see it go, spent half my younger days out there messing around so lots of memories. Don't worry you'll soon get the hang of your new telehandler. They can be a bit tricky at first. ;D
