those dumpers will turn over in the blink of an eye, usually its just the skip that goes and its designed so no damage will be done normally but different story when the whole lot goes, so what happened there? to me it looks like he was going too fast and mounted the verge? my boss has had a few go over on their sides over the years, sometimes when tipping big rocks they can get caught in the back of the skip when its tipped up and send the whole lot over on her side, my friend was driving one day and this happened, whole front of the dumper swung around up in the air and the front (cab) part ended up hanging over a cliff edge where they were building a sea wall! he had to break the side window to get out
  4. a guy picked up a couple fields here last week, dont konw what his story was just saw the picked up fields and a trailer parked
  5. very nice mike, this is my favourite of your displays
  6. ya they are far better, with my boss id pick to drive the 6810 any day over one of the 6920's. i find the button gear change is too slow as you have to wait for it to ready itself, the manual range selector on the 10s lets you get off the blocks alot quicker.
  7. these are a great series alright far better then the 20's in my opinion. i spend alot of time on a 6810 and she is easily one of if not the best tractor ive driven in terms of all round performance.
  8. well 2007 has been a particulary good year for my "model" contracting business, with an excellent silage and cereal harvest for a change. Pit silage harvested this year was up to 4700 acres a good jump from last year and bales made were just under 16,000. Cereal land harvested and cultivated remained at approximately 3300 acres for each, however we are expecting some growth in this area for next year as alot of existing customers have indicated they will be putting more land into cereals next year. Based on the previous year we have decided it would be a good time to shuffle the tractor fleet for next season, and have decided to sell some tractors to make way for some newer arrivals. for sale (ps im not really selling them so no offers ) M.F. 3670 6243hrs M.F. 3655 5065hrs M.F. 3070 7012hrs new tractors for 2008 M.F. 6495 bought bran new M.F. 6480 bought bran new M.F. 8160 bought second hand with 2678hrs So the tractor line up for 2008 will be M.F 3690 5190hrs M.F 6190 4008hrs M.F 6190 4334hrs M.F 6290 4123hrs M.F 6290 3800hrs M.F 6290 3956hrs M.F 8160 2678hrs (bargin buy) M.F 8270 3500hrs M.F 6495 Bran new M.F 6480 Bran new We will also be hiring in for the planting/silage season a fendt 716 and an 818. So how was the year for the rest of ye?
  9. did you see primetime last night, if i was a contractor up north id be crossing the border for my diesel thats for sure
  10. digger trouble already seen some (a good bit of) murky watery greasey stuff leaking from around the slewing ring of digger today, took of the inspection plate underneath her and a nice bit of water came out ive left it off for now to see if it stops once all water is gone otherwise the seal is gone, looking at what came out though id say its gone alright. she was ment to have been fully greased in there too before she left yard but the sh?t in there looks like its been there for ages, defidently no fresh stuff from what i could see. I also think there is dirt in the diesel filters/tank cos i left her go to about a quarter of a tank before filling today, straight after filling she died down completly and conked out 3 times in 15 mins, and has been underpowered all evening. took off filter and sure enough some dirt. also ive noticed the door over the engine has been buckled a bit since we saw it at the dealers and now isnt closing properly so them 3 things havent helped an already fustrating day!!!!!! dealer will be getting a call tomorrow thats for sure
  11. worth it at that though id say, must take alot of time. i though he produced models to sell? is it just for himself so he makes them?
  12. wow, what kind of price are they making? too expensive for me id say
  13. dont know much about renaults im afraid but if i was getting a tractor tomorrow i wouldnt buy a new holland if your also thinking along them lines, there way too soft. dont get me wrong there a nice tractor to drive and very operational and all that but theres always stuff going wrong with them regularly, mostly electrical stuff, blowing seals and mechanical faults. put it this way over the last few years ive driven (ranging from a couple weeks at a time to a few months) a 7840, ts 115 x2, 8160, 8360, 8560, tm 130, tm 120, tm150, tm 155x 2, tm 175, tvt 190 and tg 255 prob a couple i missed out on! and every one of them bar the 8560 and tm 130 gave trouble in some shape or form while i was on them. some might say i might have be dogging it but honestly i wasnt and ive spent way longer time periods in other makes without so much as a conk out. anyway thats just my opinion nh's are too soft.
  14. this is a great topic Sean just looked through it from start to finish! my favourite bit is the spud planting bit with the old masseys
