  2. Done. A lot of the maize around us could do with a good few days with sun and no wind. As for today: a german exam in the morning, followed by some cleaning out of troughs when i got home. Some more scheduled for tomorrow i believe.
  3. You can have our rain if you want. Its madde up for the early spring but could do without if now.

  5. well the brakes didnt seem too bad when we were silaging so something seems to have been changed. the only thing i know about them really is that when we were hauling some of last years silage one of nicks drivers went on a detour to a weighbridge in Calne and the trailer held 10.5 tons easily with the silage sides fitted. the floatation wheels are also good and the difference could be seen compared to the 'super singles' on the other trailer when we were silaging
  6. I think there was one fitted but i will try and find out for sure
  7. Blimey, only just discovered this topic. Theses trailers are brilliant, really well built and good at coping with most things that get thrown at it. this is a picture of one of the new ones. There were also 2 bale trailers madde when this one and its partener were built but I dont think any others were built.
  8. Last week really but only just got a chance to put them up: There will be more soon (tomorrow hopefully) in my Forest Farm topic.
  9. Wrong im afraid Tris. If you saw a New Holland with a Kuhn mower it was a contractor. If you saw a Ford with a Taarup it was my uncle. My dad hasnt been mowing for about 15 years and that was only because my uncle was busy. A little teaser while i have a bit of time
  10. According to Model Tractor magazine, they should be avalible by the end of June.
  11. We got it from the Knockdown branch of T H Whites so i think it was fairly local.
  12. Its a 55 plate so somewhen between sept 05 and march 06 but not sure exactly. Only about 2700 hours on it as it was used by some bloke who put a topper on the front to cut minimal amounts of grass. Ok maybe i should say the farms latest purchase
  13. Do my eyes decieve me or are there some Marshall trailers in some of the pictures?
  14. Thats the trouble with all of these new electrics in tractors. they may make them easier and better to drive but their fiddly and complicated. Thats why i like our main tractor (ford 7610). It may have a gearbox that can be awquward sometimes but thats just if you need to get a good speed in the field. That said it does have an electrical problem in that the dashboard doesnt work but thats no big deal as it doesnt affect the day to day workings of it. And for what annoyed me today? A comfirmation that there will be no nice shiny masseys doing our silaging this year.
  15. sounds like a right pain in the backside. reminds me of a NHT6070 we had on hire one year. It was traded in by the owner so the new one came straight to our farm from the factory. we went for a bit of a drive and it decided it didnt like top gear and went into neutral. it turned out it hadnt been calibrated properly in the factory.
  16. In this picture the lugs are outlined for you They were introduced on the later versions of the Fordson super major ready for the trailers release in1963. They were also included on later tractors. When the trailer was dropped in1996 the points remained on some tractors but any new castings would not include the points.
  17. For what seems like quite a small area they do seem to have a lot of kit about. judging by the number of 11 plate tractors around they also have quite a good amount of trade going on.
  18. I was at Hunts, Tris.My uncle was looking at the 6920.
  19. One contractor close to use has cut some but it was just a few bales to keep the farmers cattle happy. The farmer also wanted to plough the ground up for maize and didnt want to plough up too much grass.
  20. Im sure many of you farmers on here know that new fuel regulations have recently been introduced and farm diesel now has a higher biofuel content. What i want to know is has anyone had any problems with fuel leaks after the change over? All three of our tractors have and they are all of different ages and I dont think it can be put down to general wear on all of them.
