  1. now as you all well know i am a siku"" freak ""but what the hell is that  >:( >:(>:( it really is pants just looks like a plastic made in hong honk kong or some were like that ,i don't even want to buy one as a collector or even  to do a conversion on ,poor  :'( poor  :'( poor :'(  sorry lads it is only my opinion """i have nothing sensible to say about the new holland and cannot bring my self to give it constructive criticism """

  2. yes your dead right they use to run some  scania`s a few years ago but most of the fleet is man,daf and he has one merc ,but as you know me i mostly work on siku and these trucks have great detail  to start with and 1/32 scale  good quality die cast  trucks are big problem from whats available to use as a base ,so to start making these in to 6x2 starts to get a bit pricey and to use the siku man truck only available in ( remote control type ) the job would be well over £200 before we start  ,so when i deal with my customers i explain all of this along with they are all left hand drive and all of them so far are more than happy to have there livery put on this type or truck with in the price i charge for that ,most i deal with are just happy that there is some one out there who is willing to do one off or 20 of  in there livery .corgi either don't want to know or have a minimal order

when i get on to the Frank Hudson transport ones they should hit the spot ;)

if i was doing one for my self i would probably go to all of the trouble of all the above ,i could do with getting hold of some extra wheels or getting some fake ones cast then i could consider adding them so it looks a proper job

  4. barry for your resin parts just normal primer will do the job nothing special for that but if you are doing plastic it is very very important to use proper plastic primer ( adhesion promoter) ,also prepare the surface so the primers have some thing to grip to ,look out in the next model farmer mag i am doing a article on this subject resin / plastic

the whole painting thing is so vast and people wonder why they have problems .

any how barry if there is any thing i and help you with just ask mate my advice is f.o.c

  5. it is ok going to the john deere  dealer for paint but most motor factors who supply the motor trade  can supply you paint in an aerosol can of your choice ie john deere green /massey ferguson red etc ,just a couple of things to watch out is that siku ,wiking, Britain's ,uh and ertl toys/ model and the real tractors what you will find they are all different shades of green furthermore what ever colour you go for check the colour both inside under normal lighting and out side in normal light as this has a great effect on the colour ( Metameric) just a tip from me the paint tec  ;) ;)

The term illuminant metameric failure is sometimes used to describe situations where two material samples match when viewed under one light source but not another. Most types of fluorescent lights produce an irregular or peaky spectral emittance curve, so that two materials under fluorescent light might not match, even though they are a metameric match to an incandescent "white" light source with a nearly flat or smooth emittance curve. Material colors that match under one source will often appear different under the other.

get your laughing gear round that then  ;D ;D ;D

  6. Saving paint on the wheel rims or is it a different shade of yellow Peter :-\

no they are painted yellow as well ,you can not tell by the pictures but it is a totally different colour

  7. Johny ,, i have a good friend who makes my decals for me ,for all my models  and they are all pre cut laser print on vinyl ( not water slide ) these are proper stickers

    cheers peter

  8. David i have enjoyed looking at your mint  pictures just as much as i enjoyed the weekend away ,see the only problem i have is it is hard to have a good look round when i am selling because every 5 mins as you seen people are wanting to know some thing or other and our lass has still not got the knowledge (patter) to sell things :( :( ,the only thing she does not have a problem with is looking after the ££££ ??? ??? i must have been through these pictures 10 times and still find them interesting, so thanks for your paparazzi style coverage of the event  ;) ;) ,,,,hope to see you at Pickering and maybe you can look after my stall for an hour :) :),

    cheers peter

this was the only picture i got all weekend ,found it quite funny as we used to show rottweilers

  9. Here's the first of my two model purchases from Peter Hardy today at the Great Yorkshire Steam Rally. It's a 2wd conversion of a Siku John Deere 5720 Farmer+. I'm absolutely smitten with this little tractor and all the extra little details Peter's included. It bears a close resemblence to a 2wd 5020 series tractor that works locally alongside a 4wd version.

    Here's my 1/32nd scale pair, including a standard 4wd Siku 5620:

david can i just clear some thigh up the 5620 2wd was originally a pdc conversion i only swapped some parts to the farmer plus 5720 model because of its extra detail and change the bit on the  front end,i do not want it to look as if i am ripping off paul pdc models ,he really needs to take the credit for this in the first place .

    cheers peter

  10. does it say PDC underneath? ???

this came from a collection i bought from a guy called kev stuart that was on here for sale i while back and you can see it in the for front in one of the pictures,i sent a picture to paul asking if this was one of his because it was really well done but had no name or any thing on it,and paul was the only guy i knew who does this to this standard ,and there was a 6420 in the collection that did had pdc on the base , pauls said yes it looks as if it was one of his ,

any way i was in two minds about selling it on or doing some thing with it ,,it was looking a bit aged ,so i thought to my self if i was going to keep it i would swap some  parts over on to a farmer plus model and do some thing with the front end and put it back in to the display case , i thought mint ,,super ,,for a while any way . no offence to paul or david who bought it for only £40 ,but it still never grew on me as the whole 2wd thing is not really my thing.so it had to go even after all that trouble and at the cost of a farmer plus and the other 2wd model ,so please do not think that i am ripping off paul from pdc or copping his thing he has been really good with me with one thing or another over the years ,and i have put this post up just to say sorry if this looks that way  :-[:-[ :-[

i have also a pdc 6420 for sale that need a bit TLC this also came from kev stuarts collection ,i have just changed the front weight block and this has got pdc on the underside and it was because of this that promped me to ask paul if the other one was one of his as that had nothing on it .

so hows it going to look if i sell this one as well  :-[:-[
