  1. Not sure on the look of that Joe, I know that’s secondary to what the machine can do, but I think that front grill is awful!
  2. Thanks Simon, it didn’t last long, soon back to wet again. All of a sudden we’ve gone from being desperate for rain to looking like we’re going to need a boat if it doesn’t stop..just your typical summer I suppose! The lime spreading set up is based on a local contractor, he’s run Valtra’s on the lime spreader for years now
  3. Getting some lime on in between the downpours!
  4. We used to be the same Jack as the mill and mix was in some old byres that you couldn’t get into with a tractor, so the barley and oats were angered into the mill, then once they were rolled and mixed with protein pellets and molasses it was all bagged up and led away in the link box. This is a more modern approach 😂
  5. Some ideas I’m working on for a beef unit on the layout. It’s based around a home mill and mix set up feeding rolled barley and a mineral mix as lib to fat cattle in wooden hoppers. This isn’t the building it will be set in, just getting an idea of how it’ll all work. Also a couple of attachments for the Massey, including a clever frame that can be used as a bale spike, pallet forks or a bag lifter 👍
  6. That’s a very impressive model Jan, I really like that👌
  7. Thank you Barry, much appreciated 👍
  8. A bit more on the Massey’s. UH 3080 fitted with slightly bigger tyres, track widened, rear linkage replaced and fitted with a removable 925 loader, plus another 80 loader built for the 290
  9. It’s a very common issue once they’ve a bit of wear on the linkage Simon. It was always reckoned to be mainly an issue on the XL cabs and not a problem on the L’s but as I say we found it the other way around. You’ll soon learn where to tap it to get it back in line😉
  10. As Smithy has said Simon, you’ll need to get underneath her with a bar to realign them. We used to have a 685XL and it never once gave any problems in that area, but we had a 785 with the L cab, which had a slightly different linkage arrangement and it was terrible for it, we always carried a bar in the cab! The problem came when going from reverse into high, if you tried to hurry it it jammed between low and high, basically trying to select both ranges at once. We were that used to it that you could jump out, get in behind the cab with the bar and give the selector a tap to free it in seconds! Funnily enough, our 475 occasionally does it, but I put that down to very worn linkage and being in too much of a hurry 🤣
  11. Just waiting on the weather for a bit of second cut silage, classic Massey style😉
  12. I’ll try, but I thought no I might need help to kick the habit!😂
  13. Thanks very much Justin, sounds like a good idea that😉
  14. Thanks very much James. I’m certainly no expert when it comes to painting, but we get enough damp days up here that I soon learned not to bother trying to paint then unless I want a dull flat finish, which to be fair it seem to more often than not now🤣
  15. Thanks Jack, it wasn’t a good day for painting as the damp atmosphere left a dull finish as it dried, but for ageing that actually works in your favour as you don’t have to rub the model down to get rid of the shine👍
  16. Well, I’m an early riser Jack, it’s been a pig of a day here, so after going round the stock I thought I could have a few hours in my shed. Got it built and sprayed by dinner time, then after dinner the paint had dried so I could spend a couple of hours finishing it off and weathering it👍
  17. At all he risk of causing controversy, a lot more reliable too😉
  18. Looking well Paul, I do like a Unimog 👍
  19. It’s been a properly wet day here today, so thought I’d build myself a Triffitt rear discharge spreader
  20. Thanks very much Paul, I finally found a use for the one with the cloudy glass😉
  21. Thanks John, nice group there👍I made the cutter removable as I fancy swapping it between the Leyland and a Ford👍
