  1. That looks a well built trailer John the only thing that I can see wrong with it is the position of the lights, but thats only from a beet carting point of view, they'd get forcibly removed when the first load was tipped
  2. I haven't got powerpoint on here but if you can send them to me in any other form thats no problem
  3. Cheers, any size between 2 and 7 furrows mounted can be catered for, pm or see website for details
  4. Really must update my website plough pics \ Here's some better ones of a 5f Kverneland that I've just done for another member on here
  5. Thought I'd better update this with some pictures of the finished item before it goes to its new owner on Sunday, it now has all the hoses, rams and hydraulic motor detail on it so here you go guys
  6. That looks really good Stephen, but of course they never break down (yeah right ) so it wouldn't be needed :D
  7. Nice work Stephen, can I see a Renault one hiding in amongst them this time?
  8. Like wise, it's too addictive :D :D
  9. Just found this 2wd beasty on ebay whilst having my daily browse of the tractors. Its up for sale near Cambridge too, the chap is a dealer as I've seen it on his website as well http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Massey-Ferguson-2640-2wd-Tractor-c-w-Air-con-In-Vgc_W0QQitemZ110182222334QQihZ001QQcategoryZ92021QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Website: www.srhmachinery.co.uk

    Seed origin?

The only way you'll get it in quantities under 50kg is to speak nicely to a farmer as they usually have a little bit left over from cleaning out the drill. I don't actually know anywhere you could get treated seed corn in any smaller quantities straight from the supplier \

    Seed origin?

How smaller quantity are we talking of here

    Seed origin?

You can buy in the seed in cwt or 500kg bags with a variety of different dressings on it, I believe from memory C1 or first generation seed is what you buy in for seed production and C2 which is the seed off the previous harvests C1 is what would be bought in for malt/milling/feed grain production. The two farms I help out on both grow their own seed for the next year, I believe that hey do have to pay royalties to the breeders for this though. All dressing and treatment was carried out by Hutchinsons with a mobile seed dressing rig on a lorry on one of the farms, the other does it himself with a 'Heath Robinson' type setup in the barn consisting of a Boby dresser with a sprayer pump cobbled onto it :D This only applies to grain crops though, as most OSR is Hybrid then farm saving of seed is not really a viable option as it will lose some of its characteristics if memory serves me correct, this comes in 25kg bags. Sugar beet is a whole different thing altogether, all is produced in mainland europe and bought in as part of the contract through British Sugar, it comes in boxes known as units which I believe is 100,000 seeds
  14. I get the feeling you'll be testing it out on Saturday just to check that one :D
  15. Too right, pulled down several wide furrow fields over-wart for sugarbeet in the past few years, now that is rough, believe me :o We found that 16 inches was about right across the board, thats about as wide as is sensible on a Lemken plough, gives a nice level finish both above and below the ground
  16. nope, just several years experience ploughing some very heavy clay :D
  17. If you're on heavier land the smaller 12 inch furrows will create smaller lumps making for easier seedbed preparation, whereas big 18 inch ones create hard to knock up horses heads making seed bed preperation at best hard and costly, at worse impossible
  18. I think I may actually pay for delivery on that one :D :D
  19. Was thinking of seeing if I could get to see it at the weekend as I'm down that way anyway, tough decision as 30k isn't ideal \
  20. I didn't realise it had been there that long :o Guess no one wants a 30k transmission anymore \
  21. Basic box is 2 ranges of four gears with a single splitter giving 16 forward and 16 reverse gears much like Ford's Dual Power system, Tractoshift had 3 splits with a complicated operating system than could be troublesome so this is much better
  22. Well it wasn't me who altered it but I think we can all guess who done it
  23. I've just spoken to a local dealer on the phone who has taken in a 1999 Renault 155-54 on part exchange, it's done 4993 hrs and its been fully maintained by the dealer for all its life, 1 owner/driver as well, very clean with excellent tyres and the basic 40k 16x16 gearbox like in the 106-54, not the fancy and more troublesome tractoshift one, so I think I'm going out for a trip later in the week to take a look at it. Ok so the hours are higher than the 106-54 but with a proven history I think its worth more anyway, what do you lot think
