  1. yeah then say "oh sorry, i'm not allowed to join in so you won't be wanting that" then see what happens : :
  2. No idea what he has on there, we only do the arable land for him along with the baling and grassland work, the cattle are still in house. it's an all year round concern though
  3. trouble is your old 3000 won't lift 3 Welger d4006 bales in one hit, its bad enough with the McCormick, need to have 4wd in or its a bit slow manouvring : :D
  4. Not as long as the old cable controls will I bet :D
  5. Very, very, very nice, yet another top class Ford conversion by yourself :)
  6. Gav836

    few pics

It presses the stones in out of the way of mowers, tedders and balers, also out of the way of wrapped bales as they can split the wrapping. Can help iron out some bumps as well
  7. Thats what I said above about Claas/Renault tractors, Deere Power Systems is the part of JD that provides engines to other companies, look in the Renault Claas leaflets and handbooks and it says DPS. It's the pre 2003 models that were prone to head gasket failure, seemed to be less of a problem from tier II onwards
  8. Looking good Nick If your Dad isn't happy about the strip in the grass I can't imagine what he'll say when he see's the holes you've cut in his shed and fence to get the sawdust :D :D
  9. Who cares, it's only a bunch of guys kicking a bag of wind round some grass : :
  10. Very nice Paul, 'Mogs look at home with a baler on
  11. I never said anything about the DPS engines although I'll be the first to admit they are prone to head gasket failure
  12. I know a good doctor who should be able to help you with that problem :D :D
  13. I know but we thought judging by the smoke the JD wouldn't be long before fire consumed it The drill folds up to under 3m wide for transport making it fit down the roads easier
  14. only a baby compared to my old 836 and the 816 we also had then. Do miss my Renaults, the NH's are nice but the Renault was nicer :'(
  15. A- Hes on the headland run and B- It was the old boss and knowing him he forgot to open them : :D :D
  16. I don't know how general it is but about here the 20 series have done a lot to damage JD's reputation for reliability, the 7*20 series have had gearbox faults and the 6*20 series have had engine problems amongst other things so I don't doubt it \
  17. Thats exactly what we were saying before they picked it up and on the cb's while we had it there, the question we asked each other was "why would you bring a machine to someone who could be customer if its faulty?" As it is locally JD combines have a bad reputation and the tractors are not helping matters
  18. Or McMad has beeen near it :D :D We did hear of an intercooler blowing up on one locally around that time last year
  19. The combine was a demonstrator, we were less than impressed with it, horrendous fuel consumption compared to the 460 which done 10am till 12 am on 400 litres of diesel, the JD done from 3.30pm till 12 am on 450 litres :o The dealer wasn't impressed when we told him we'd ran out of coal to put in it, said something about a possible intercooler fault \
  20. A few more, think I may have posted some before but these are the bigger versions of them. TVT175 and 4m Vaderstad JD 7920 and GB Discordon Oh Deere : : :D
  21. Found all these on a disc my mate gave me. All were taken during harvest last year. The first four were called by us "it'll be fit when we get to it" as the barley was no where near fit but we were told to have it anyway A couple of our old 460 and the then bosses Fathers 460 in wheat and then beans A challenger had on demo by them last Autumn after I'd gone
