  1. No unfortunately not, Normac is on Thursday 14th September, will post details in events section
  2. I might be able to go to several of them with whats happenned this week, we all so have Normac 2006 happening near me, totally free as well so will definately be going to that one
  3. Thanks Sean, glad you think it looks good. Both the front gangs are now widened, the Dremel finally cooled down enough to cut the other side up, damn it was hot :D
  4. i've just got to finish the combining then thats it basically, will be no work for me after that with the new people
  5. Thanks guys any help will be usefull as this is my first attempt at something like this
  6. Now one of these would look rather nice in front of a 6m Vaderstad......... :D They all fold up vertically so theres a bit of working out to do and another set of rams to aquire from somewhere
  7. Don't want this too cost the earth to build so if making it fold is going to cost too much in parts it will be a rigid one i think Only one off the Simba website at the minute, planning a little excursion to the dealers tomorrow to see what i can find there.
  8. cheers, not too worried about the subsoiler legs and rear discs, its the fact the whole thing should fold up which is going to cause some head scratching i think, unless of course i make it rigid \
  9. I got round to thinking earlier that the Britains Simba Solo 330 isn't really big enough for the bigger tractors some of us have in our collections now so i thought i'd have a go at making a 660, 6.6 m wide one. Only started it this lunchtime and would like some feedback from you guys on here and any suggestions about the work so far, plus my Dremel is a bit on the hot side at the minute and needs to cool down :D
  10. I did think that unless its been tweaked, other wise there could be a smell here which you know too well at the minute Colm........ :D :D
  11. We just drilled our stubble turnips with a Vaderstad behind a Gregoire Besson Discordan tillage train, also put some on with a rape seeder mounted on the GB as an experiment. In the past we have spread them on with our Kuhn spreader and even ploughed and drilled them, they aren't really too fussy but they just need moisture to grow.
  12. Cheers Sean, so do i. I'll stick to tractor driving and chainsaw work if i can, got my ticket for that sort of thing
  13. nice pictures and a really nice setting there Luke, was expecting you to start off quoting song lyrics for a minute then : :D
  14. Thanks, got a few contacts i'm making use of, but down here good jobs are hard to find at the minute, looking at going self employed again now. Definately not good is it. Only thing in my favour is i've been there 5 years so i do get a pay off and i should have had 5 weeks notice but i only have 2 \
  15. now i hate to be the one to point this out F-P but isn't that a Vaderstad and not a Vraderstad : :D can you smell something........................ :
  16. pi$$ing down with rain with a dose of thunder and lightning mixed in for good measure here at the minute
  17. I think the F-P's pre edited answer was better and probably right, you're just too late to see it Tris :D
  18. Cheers Tris, i haven't been too happy there but as far as i knew it was a secure job for as long as i wanted it. Yes i'm not happy at being made redundant and shall miss the team i work with on the other farm i shall not miss the one person i spend most of the time with who has been making my life miserable, so i'm also relieved and happier like that.
  19. I suppose you have a point there, and i have hands and not flippers as well : :D As you say a sh1t deal though
  20. His words to me were i'm just a boy living on borrowed money as i have no farm. Basically his whole business was contract farming and he got the last 2500 acres in quick succession and had to buy a lot of kit in one go, all of which is coming up for replacement in one go and the running costs are getting high. Add to that the fact that one of the tractors cost ?8k in repairs earlier this year and ?5k on the combine service then you can see whats been causing some of the problems \
  21. Not expecting that as the boss told me 2 months ago, not even that, that my job was secure so i'm a bit narked at the minute. But i did know that finances were tight and things were a bit shakey, he did say he'd wanted to be honest with me and has been as soon as he had plans confirmed and has been. Yet another one goes to the wall :(
  22. Permanent as of end of August, packing up contracting due to lack of funds, surplus machinery being sold and one of our contract farms is taking on all of the existing contracts hence the new kit. Only 3 blokes are needed and i'm the youngest and will be the one who finds it easier to get another job its me whos gone I don't know yet, going to make a few phonecalls about going back self employed for various people, i needed this like a hole in the head at the minute :'(
