    PTO question

Would be similar to the rear PTO HP wise and often still has the option of either 540rpm or 1000rpm drive speeds
  2. Thats abit of an abitious guess, that long : :D
  3. Someone needs a kick up the ar$e, it isn't rocket science to know that you have to stack the bales squarely to stop this happenning is it \
  4. Don't believe you as i know theres someone else on there you like chatting to even more them Ol and myself :D :D
  5. I just love the engine note of the old 6 cylinder engine fitted in the 30/33/3650 models, such user friendly tractors as well. Spent many a happy hour hedgecutting with a 2850 and enjoyed every minute of it despite the lack of air con. Don't rate the newer models, i had a 6900 blow the head gasket and head at 3 years old and 2500hrs
  6. If our barley is anything to go by it seems to be a good year for straw, even in a 2t/acre crop our 25' Lexion 460 was leaving a swath up to your waist or approx 3' high
  7. an old penguin joke springs to mind there Today i was annoyed at some tw@t in a BMW who didn't slow down when my escort vehicle tried to flag him down and nearly went under the front of the combine, if i hadn't put it in the hedge he would not be alive now to do anything with the speed he was going >
  8. It would either be through a bar on the front if it were liquid fertiliser or through nozzles on the planter if it were to be used for applying a pre-emergence herbicide to the planted potatoes, have seen both methods used on various drills/planters
  9. says it all really, has to be cut when the straw still matches the colour of the machines
  10. Hells bells the wheat must be fitter there than it is about this way, its still a good 2 weeks away round here
  11. Thats the one, Weeting steam rally and country fair, been on since Friday morning, entry is ?7 for adults don't know about OAP concessions Marky sorry : :D
  12. Found another couple for you, would appear to be 1974/5 models that were this shape, not that i can remember back then as i wasn't even born
  13. Found this one on Tractor Pool, only picture of it from the outside, not too brilliant so don't know if its of any help Sean
  14. Well in which case he's lucky then because if that was our old one i'd have to take pity on him as she was just about wore up. Good combines though, forerunner of the lexion, could nearly keep up with my 460 but not quite
  15. It is a very nice combine, i want one! As far as i know the tracks are just rubber, thats what it looked like on the 580 Terra Trac we had on demo anyway
  16. Fair dues, didn't know if that was our old one in its new home that was all
  17. nice pictures, we used to have one of them in our fleet up until last year when a 98, 108 and 204 were all replaced by one Lexion 460. The 204 is a good combine, know much about the history of that one?
  18. Should get a topper with a slip clutch on it then, saves all that hassle. Definately don't miss shearbolts with how many times we hit rabbit holes or big mole hills when we top our set-aside
  19. From memorey RTITB = Road Transport Industry Training Board i think
  20. I can though Do NPTC, CITB and LANTRA ones count as well :D
  21. I found the best trick with a telescopic is to push the boom right out with a full bucket of corn while pushing up in the barn just to demonstrate to the student hanging onto the cab steps that the machine cannot tip up no matter what you do as it will only hit the heap of corn. Never seen someones face lose its colour so quickly as his did when the back wheels came up 6 feet in the air :D :D
  22. Have to get the red paint out i reckon, looks like a giant spearmint Trebor softmint at the minute :D
  23. Looks a good little forklift, shame aboout the colour though \ :D
