  1. Right picked these up from the other farm the other day to break down some winter ploughing which is going into Maize early next month. Being a Livestock lad myself with only power harrowing and ploughing experience in cultivations, I have a few questions on using a Spring Tine Harrow correctly: -Firstly should I extend the toplink so the rear is deeper in the ground? -Secondly how deep should I drop it, bearing in mind I am prepared to do it twice before the power harrow? -Finally how fast should I be going in our clay?
  2. You're having it easy mate.....I'm going through just the same with A level Dt at the moment, which makes last year seem like a walk in the park. :'( But is very satisfying I must say, now I've finnished my practical. ;)
  3. Dad going on holiday this morning, which was fine as it's a free house and responsibility, but to get home to find the final big flock of ewes had started lambing today, so there went my evening, all plans gone to sort out sheep. Worst of all, he's not home untill sunday, but of all days they could have started dropping lambs......Another weeked of 6-8 days outside then. :'(
  4. You want a band saw next Blake......cuts a lot more and you can hit straight and accurate lines.

  6. Not really, but we are always on the look out for a MX110 with a nice drive-in loader for the right money, just will prove a lot more useful I feel. \

  8. Next up are some pictures of spreading the second batch of Nitrogen to the early silage fields......
  9. Thought I'd better start a new topic for they year to share what I've been up to lately and attempt to keep updated throughout the year. Firstly are some pictures I took last week of my annual chain harrowing campaign and am on about 90 acres so far, but plenty more to do. Quite plesed with the finnish that this set leave as a whole and will also prevent thistles and nettles untill at least late summer which is far better for the grass and makes the place look much tidier, but the difference in the quality of grass is pretty superb......
  10. Looks like he's passengering as they're all off centre. That and not being old enough.
  11. Useful machine, but when you can't get 600 Kilo bags you know you wasting valuable time with space in the hopper. ;)

  17. Had our young farmers stock judging event today which I organised which went well, I just didnt't expect the work involved in organising such an event though if I'm honest, as my phone bill quadroubled in price last month, hours on the phone everyday trying to keep trading standards on our sides, borrowing stock, arranging judges and stewards, two tanks of diesal in the tractor collecting and returning stock from farms all over the area and just the stress that goes with it. But I'm pleased being the clubs youngest ever livestock officer. ;)
