  1. In the Stuart Gibbard County book, there's a picture of a crawler upside down in the road. The building behind it is the old Fleet police station. Couldn't have chosen a worse place!
  2. Transit flat bed, three on board, two milk churns and bolt croppers in the back - tow more than just your fuel bowser...😉
  3. The Scalextric L322 RR is nice in silver but obviously not a pick up.
  4. Majorette do/did have a Ford F350, or it's a rebuild of the Britains service truck perhaps?
  5. Went to the Silchester charity tractor run this evening. We would have participated if we'd known it was on, only found out yesterday and no trace on any of the (very limited) advertising of a contact for the organisers to see if joining in was possible. The fact that the end meeting venue was charging £12 (no, not a misprint - twelve!) for just a burger was a straightforward ripoff. I hope some of that goes back to the charities. Rant over..
  6. In the first pic here, the two tracked dollies look like ww2 aircraft recovery bogies.
  7. Hi Cathy, Would this be of a tractor you have seen somewhere or maybe one you or a relative may have used? Do you have a size or scale in mind? Toy or collectable maybe? Any particular version perhaps?
  8. So close! 1983-6 we ran 3 grasshoppers behind tweaked Ford 9700s. Superbly simple machines, ours were all green.
  9. Don't know if this will work, I'm sure this is the location of the last pic today. Same building, new cladding. https://maps.app.goo.gl/uXrLi1xRbRtzoDpY9
  10. I remember (just!) being on my way to school along Albert Street and seeing the sparkly new lime green rigid FC dumper being driven out of what I believe was the design shop behind the original offices in Upper Street.
  11. That last pic - How the hell do you decide what to dig or where to drive???
  12. Almost too good - I just want to get in it and drive.
  13. Don't know the history of this one but appeared in our yard around the time of the release of the FC1174TW. Could possibly have been the old demonstrator.
  14. Only a few, and apologies for the picture quality. 1/76 Oxford diecast L322 Realtoy 1/64 P38 Bburago 1/24 P38 Auto Art 1/16 P38 Lode Lane 1/1 P38
  15. Others... Danbury Ford 2000 1/16. Britains TE20 Britains truck, Britains JCB. Danbury Model T, 1/16.
  16. This is my late fathers collection of Dennis Goodburn built Scaledown and others. Fordson, his first vintage tractor. Unfortunately there aren't any photos of it. Ransomes MG6 The MG6 model was the closest we could get to our MG2, or 5, or 40. Major Looks very much better than ours. Allis B Massey 35 Ours with himself at the wheel. Sea Horse County Crawler
  17. Not a Claas but I did 3 harvest seasons cutting OSR with one of these.
  18. What is the 'etiquette' at these events? Bring and use your own tool? Arrive empty and use an unattended tool? Bring a tool and use swap / turn about with others? Do you cultivate what someone has just ploughed or plough something freshly cultivated?
  19. Our Mill/Mix came in the form of a 16 ton Commer truck (TS3 powered) with the mill run by a Detroit of some form. You could hear it coming 2 miles away, but once it had sat in a closed yard for a couple of hours at full chat and done 20 odd tons of feed you never heard it leave...
  20. Thank you. That's the chap. I've no idea how we found him originally but glad we did. I must dig them out.
  21. I'll see what I can do, the Scaledown models are currently in storage and will have to be sorted out. It bugs me that I can't remember the name of the chap that built them. I believe he lived in either Cuckfield or Uckfield. Visited him many times over the years as my mum would order them for my dads birthday, and I would collect them when passing. He appeared to be 'well in' with Scaledown at the time (1990s). He often mentioned and I think was friends with Brian Norman. I've probably got more photos of the 1/1 stuff at the moment but I get to work on it. Rob.
  22. Hi. There you go, said it... I'm Rob, been lurking here for a while and thought it time to put on the anorak and stick my head above the parapet. My collection is mostly Britains, with some Siku and Ros, and a couple of unknowns which will appear here at some point. I inherited my dad's collection of Scaledown models as well. These were built by a chap in Sussex whose name I can't remember and departed us some years ago. I also have his Danbury 1:16 Ford 2000. In 12"/foot scale I have a Ransomes MG2, a Massey 550, and a P38 Range Rover, with others not owned but in my care. I have P38s in 1/87, 1/64, 1/24, and 1/16, as well as 1/1. Thanks for letting me join and get involved. Rob.
