  1. Britains did a papier mache Haystack 144F, if you can find one
  2. I wouldn't like to have to fuel it up, some big tanks on their. 175 Gallons and 120 mile range apparently! There was an article, and front cover I think, on this in I think Classic Tractor or it may have been Old Tractor
  3. Deleted post, in wrong place my bad 🤐
  4. more Not too sure when this one is due out, so may be in the wrong place!
  5. A few picture of new releases taken at Toytrac yesterday
  6. A different farm model to the norm, look forward to seeing this completed. Would be relatively easy engine build if it had either a radial, Ford V8 or Chrysler multibank power plant. This would do you if you can track one down Tank Workshop 1/35 M4a2 Sherman GM 6046 Tank Engine & Engine Compartment 350059 sherman engine compartment - Search (bing.com) SHERMAN eng (strijdbewijs.nl) SHERMAN eng (strijdbewijs.nl) for your perusal.
  7. I made it there, eventually. You going to Newark next month?
  8. I don't know anything about these Northrops but have seen one before somewhere, possibly on here!
  9. Can you wrap that in bubble wrap first?
  10. You could add some bubble wrap to stop them sliding around
  11. I sent a Britains Eventing set to Holland a few years back. I brought home some cardboard home from work and wrapped it around so that it overlapped either end. Taping it both ways with plenty of tape, which pulled the overlapping ends towards each other, possibly including FRAGILE marked tape and bubble wrap inside, can't remember for certain. It arrived okay
  12. Ebay purchases John? I was watching some of these when I should have been buying them! I knew about the Ref No. 11, also no price to front cover, 3d or 6d wouldn't mean much in the US. I have a '70 catalogue Ref No. 11 Reeves and a '68 without a distributor address on back, presumably for all export markets. It came with a UK price list though. There are UK and export trade wrappers/supplements for the '65 to '71 catalogues, as no Trade catalogues for these years apart from that unusual '68 catalogue I think I mentioned to you
  13. I too saw the combine yesterday on the A303 whilst travelling in the opposite direction, between Cartgate roundabout, a pair of Fendts with drivers/passengers here, and people awaiting their passing on an overbridge before Ilchester
  14. Only the wheels/tyres are by Britains, methinks
  15. Definitely modified this one as now a mounted implement. The catalogue picture most likely a pre production model before final colour choice was made
  16. There is a wire tipping assembly/handle for tipping when attached to lorry chassis
  17. I thought it looked more maroon on the eBay pictures! I reckon its from one of the trucks, they used the rear and front holes for tipping. Are there witness marks in those positions?
  18. I haven't seen one in this colour either only a brown one and a red 60F in Britains Civilian Toy Figures book so making a bit of an assumption.
  19. I was following this, but forgot all about it then couldn't find it! It's an age thing apparently It's the later style body as per tipping trailer, solid floor and slots for hay raves/racks, so potentially from the last type of farm lorry 59F, with lights in front wings. Doesn't appear to have ever been fixed to a chassis, but close examination will determine this for sure. A good purchase with the other items included. Be interesting to see when it turns up.
  20. No worries I wouldn't call it rare, others might, more a variation in my humble opinion
  21. 9524 ford 6600 was deleted end of 1981 9420 Green or Brown 6600 was released in 1982. Green version shown in '82 catalogue and Brown version in '83 catalogue for same part number, presumably shared. I think earlier versions, probably pre '85, have solid/filled in rear wheels, later versions where open/slotted as per the Ford 6600 model with scraper/roll bar 9516 Ford 6600 with roll bar and yard scraper released in 1985 All were deleted end of 1985 and replaced by the MF 595 versions, of either cheap tractor or with roll bar and yard scraper, in 1986 with new catalogue numbers before being deleted end of 1988. The green and brown 6600 would only have been available for 1985 with roll bar attachment holes, so correspondingly less common. JMD on here has a boxed sample copy of one of these, less holes I believe. there are pictures on here somewhere
  22. I have seen a lot of these for sale on eBay over the years, but never boxed. There must be a lot of blue trailers missing their silage tops. I don't doubt there are some out there in a box albeit the 9566 box! As far as I know never released by Britains in this guise which is a shame really as an easy product to produce
  23. My two penny worth, For me desirable would include the following, Pre-production/sample copy models/toys, they did escape from the manufacturer. Unusual colour variations, probably trial paint/plastic runs, some could be classed as unique. End of line/range produced quite a few of these, post Autoway models/toys gives a few different items in the not so normal colour way of yellow. Britains were quite good at not wasting what they had already manufactured. Trade display and OEM pieces and Point of sale material. Production for overseas clients, as you have mentioned the Valmets there are also blue cabs for the E1A Super Major and 5000 Super Major, only seen one of these! Some of these items could be classed as rare too. Rare/rarest item to me is the Ford 5000 Super Major Industrial set, boxed most definitely but also as a loose model/toy. An uncatalogued very limited production run from, I reckon, late 1965. The blue tractor was released in 1965 and with rear dump in 1966. Super Major E1A was deleted at end of 1965 although I suspect they had stopped manufacture earlier, sales possibly dropped off with the release of the 5000, who would want the older tractor? Apart from me! It's what makes collecting Britains interesting for me, so many variations, a different coloured wheel changes the look of a model/toy, learning all the time.......... Some variations from my small collection, except the last picture. My first Britains items from new in 1969, well played with and running repairs by my dad on trailer hitch Okay, 2/- worth
  24. Don't know what you mean by lower bonnet but there was the William Britain Collection Major 8715 (later 08715) from 1997-98? Henry Ford is waving his hat. Comes with a wooden plinth and white metal supports (to hold it in position)
