  1. Thanks Paul, it really is in good nick, when they decided they were going to replace the older tractor they were considering looking for a 40 series, but saw a photograph of the AP 6610 in the Farmers Weekly classifieds from a dealer about 15 miles away and couldn't resist purchasing it. Here's the link to my tractor topic and photographs of the older LP cabbed tractor. I'll post the rest in here too. http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=25556.msg525342#new And here's the newer one leading sugarbeet ( from a big Vervaet ) for the last time on the farm before the York factory closed it's doors.
  2. Appeared to be of army origin Colm, a plant hire firm about 10 miles away used to use them aswell as dump trucks along with a big ex - army 6x6 Foden which they still have, certainly looks good as a lime spreader. Never seen a configuration like it before Mark with the loader being towed directly behind the spreader, can't be ideal. There was a contractor near me that ran an On-Top spreader with a telescopic loader on the back, but it was towed on a specially built low loader trailer. Now for a selection of Merlo telescopic loaders including a Multifarmer seen at Cereals and Festival of the Plough.
  3. It's a 1988 F plate model Paul and is used everyday on my friend's farm. It's a great little run -a- about, has seen quite a few different implements on the back too, from a bale spike for bedding up to helping out at harvest grain carting. I have loads of photos of this tractor so without wishing to hi - jack your thread i'll post the rest of them in my tractor photo topic along with the older LP cabbed tractor. Keep up the great work mate.
  4. Thanks Nick, that would be great to see the D4, a company my Dad used to work for ran a pair of D4 dozers not sure what suffix they were, but i'll have a look for them as they kept one to take to vintage working days. There's a few more photographs on the way, my Dad very kindly dug out from the garage a box load more wallets with photos of the Case and Cat tracked loaders he used 30 years ago. Here's a big Cat 235 excavator ( the same one from the road building job) seen on demolition clear up duties in Scarborough loading a Volvo FL series tipper.
  5. Can't wait to see this finished Paul, looking really impressive so far, here's a photograph of one i've spent many a happy hour driving on a friend's farm, it replaced a low profile cabbed 6610 about 4 years ago. Regards David
  6. Great pictures again KSP, Big Deere looks a treat on that plough
  7. My Dad was wondering about D H Turner and whether their machines were still about, he seems to remember them having a few of those Ackerman excavators many years ago. The photo of that Stepney International is one of my favourites, never seen many of them, a chap that my Dad used to work for had a yellow International but it was a bit of a rusting heap last time I saw it on a tip near Whitby. Here's Dad aboard a Poclain 90ck on a building site at Crossgates near Scarborough.
  8. The one I used to hear and see hadn't been turbo'd but had been tweaked slightly, sounded fantastic pulling a 10 ton load of grain up our avenue or with a 5 furrow reversible Dowdeswell on the back, the TSa series tractor that replaced it didn't seem to sound half as impressive.
  9. My top five. 1. Case IH 956XL 2. Caterpillar D8H under load 3. Ford 7810, one that lived down the road from me always sounded very impressive. 4. Massey Ferguson 3095, the one I had the pleasure of having a go on sounded lovely. 5. Fordson E27N Perkins P6
  10. Here's something you don't see very often in the static line up of a working day, a Bedford based lime spreading outfit with International loader in tow seen at the brilliant "Festival of the Plough" working day at Epworth.
  11. Some great working photo's there Mike, John Deere looks very tidy.
  12. Here's a variety of tracked excavators seen and photographed by Dad over the years. Starting at the bottom of the road where I live on a very wet site my brother and I are seen standing in front of a old Caterpillar 215 many years ago. On the same site we came across this big Norwegian Broyt X45 TB, never seen another since. Seen in front of the Lighthouse at Flamborough is this really smart O & K RH6 LC which had just been bought second hand by the firm my Dad was working for at the time. It's maiden task here was to help install a new sewage pumping station. When a larger machine was needed to help install a new fuel tank on a site near the National Railway Mueseum in York the contractor my Dad was working for aquired the services of this Ackerman H10 from D.H. Turner plant. Another photo taken very close to home, just a few hundred yards away from where I live, this International 640HD was being used on drainage work from new housing estate back in the early nineties.
  13. Amazing attention to detail, looks very impressive so far Regards David
  14. Looking forward to following this rebuild Pete, I had one of those when I was a quite a bit younger. Although it didn't see much use on my carpet farm, didn't have anything big enough to go behind it and it wouldn't go round corners very well . I ended up swapping it with a mate for a dual wheeled Britains Renault 145.14 and Ford 5610.
  15. Really like the look of the T670i, will have to keep some pennies and space aside for when it's released
  16. Some very nice models from UH on the way, nice to see they've updated the McCormick livery, will have to start saving some pennies, especially for those 2 Fords.
  17. Would love to have a go in one of those Erik, very nice pictures, fantastic looking tractor. Regards David.
  18. Some amazing machines at both those working days, i'll certainly be looking through the calendar at work to see whether I can get time off to attend a few more events than what I did last year, thanks for sharing those links Bill.
  19. I reckon that motto applies to all Yorkshiremen, certainly most of my family Bill Here's some more photographs from the road building project near York my Dad used the L.G.P D5 on. From the same contractor as the D5 come a pair Caterpillar excavators, a 225 and 235 loading another company's Volvo A.D.Ts. The Aveling Barford grader is also from the same place as the Cats and one of very few graders my Dad has had a go on. The other two excavators are a pair of Ackerman H16s loading more Volvo A.D.Ts on another part of the site.
  20. Aside from the events on my door step such as local YFC ploughing matches, Steam Rally and events that I attended last year I'm quite keen to get to the Roadless "90" working day in September as I missed Carrington last year through work commitments. Little Casterton is a must hopefully, Onslow Park Rally has always looked like a good do too, but I think it falls on the same bank holiday as one of my other major interests and hobbies, music, and Leeds Festival which i've already booked my ticket for. Now for a few Deutz Fahr combine harvesters, Topliner 4060 seen outside local S.D.F dealership near Scarborough, 4065 working near Driffield a few years ago and S690 HTS seen at Cereals last year.
  21. Aside from a "badge engineering" job they look almost the same, would love to see the Berthoud version modeled. Here's another selection of photographs of self propelled sprayers taken at Cereals 2008. Kelland's Agri-Buggy Bateman RB26 S.A.M SLE4000 Knight and finally a pair of Challenger platforms with Chafers on mounted on the back.
  22. Matbro TS260 on the back of a rigid Scania, Case IH 1594 Hydrashift leading manure in an MF200 trailer and a Renault 95 - 12 on a little wooden trailer.
