tractorbob
fully offset i would go for..you dont run over the thisels /docks etc before you cut them..plenty of makes out there abby, major .khun ,tarrup kidd etc
intey 434
ay i was thinking that but what make would you go for? prices too?
unkelfergus
Kuhn are brilliant,..........................................until you have to change the bearings in the roller on the back. An absolute cow of a job ,.....worth keeping a very close eye on.
TM190
Think about the gates you'll be going through and buy a topper that will go through them ;)
tractorbob
a lot of these topper are hydralic open and fold makes it easy.... your choice of topper depends on your buget and what you got to cut and your size of tractor you use ..decent second hand offset looking about 1,200-1,
intey 434
Think about the gates you'll be going through and buy a topper that will go through them ;) wouldnt worry about gates, theres a good digger sitting here that'll soon widen them! i was eyeing up an abbey fullyoffset, seems ok \ a mate has an abbey but its not fully offset, not the best of jobs \

nashmach
Looking ourselves at the minute also - or were looking. Fully offset is the only job or else an old disc mower. Will struggle to get anything decent under €1500 - new Abbey 7ft fully offset is €2700
Deere-est
No personal experience but I know a chap who is more than happy with his fully offset Flemming.

nashmach
I was told avoid McConnel Rhino like the plague!
Deere-est
McConnel Rhino's are great! Heavy and strong, I used the same one for 12 years before a flail took its place. It cut setaside, stubble, pasture, game cover. Great machine. Only running maintenance aside from greasing is to slacken and reset the clutch pack springs on the pto slip clutch. Or have a shear bolt shaft fitted instead.
