Does anyone know anything about this Beet Harvester

I think you will find that is a potato harvester (clue in the name: Unitate)

I've never come across a self propelled one though. Rear wheel steer too by the look of it - I bet that was interesting to keep in the row! :of

Whitsed used to be one of the most common potato harvesters in the UK, before Grimme came in and took over in the '70s.  I'm not sure what became of them - did they simply close down or were they taken over by another firm?

they became Key-Ag harversters from same area lots of staff went to the new company, a couple now work for Garford sugar beet harvesters

im sure ive seen a IH 434 on one of those when i was about 4 or 5 mid seventys

in a field oposite to the one we where picking in behind a IH 674 and 2 row ransomes digger

thought it was just my imagination playing tricks on me markie but now i see

that unit and the recomended skids (434) im sure of it now  ;)
