Paul Palmer
Circa Toytrac one hopes, \ thanks for the replys guys,oh well autumn, will just have to wait
bluegreen
The wait for this model has been ridiculous Dont Britains realise there are Tier 4 MFs due this autumn which means an ALL NEW 7600 & 6600 series which basically means this 7480 is already old hat!! ploughmaster
Perhaps the two things are related Whilst there may well be improved Tier 4 engines due in the Autumn, it does not necessarily follow that the outward appearance of the tractor will be significantly different. Have you any definate evidence that the new machines will be 7600 series? You kept banging on about a new 7600/6600 series this time last year, which, according to you were due to be launched last Autumn (2009) - it didn't happen! It may not be down to Britains. Firstly they are reliant on the factory production schedule, and secondly, it is posssible that Massey Ferguson themselves are dictating release dates. Tractorman810
when ever it comes its worth the wait, the models a huge improvement over the last batch of releases, and they were a huge step forward again for rc2 in terms of detail, in them i mean the nh and case pumas etc doesnt really bother me if the possable 7600's if they are even due might be out by then, its still a mf model, old or new its more than welcome for any mf fan
archbarch
im not sure the how it works but for the last few years has anything been released on time??? Its nothing to do with manufacturing, shipment its just plain marketing 'throw the line to draw you in early' its used alot in other areas. Andy
I will try and get an update out of them this afternoon. One thing to remember is the company owning britains will prioritise their biggest selling lines and get new product for that shipped quicker than others. I dont think there will be any more changes to this model.
Simon
No matter if the model is out dated to the production machine, nice to not skip a range anyway... There are lots of hoops to jump through to getting a model to market... don't know if it's the case with this one, but when UH launched the 5480 they were all geared up and sent the pre-prod to MF at Stoneleigh [which I got my paws on] where it got a few thumbs down and had to have some minor changes made, something like that can add months to a programme, even if it's just something simple like the mirrors being the wrong style or the decals aren't quite right, as a whole new mock up needs producing, sending to the licensor, approving, sending back, putting into production.... cue months of thumb twiddling waiting for confirmation.... and after one thing gets picked up, more people take an interest in making sure subsequent improvements are correct, exponentially increasing the time taken to get it resolved.... aaahhh, the joys of business...! bluegreen
I hope to see a friend of mine in a couple of weeks who is branch manager of one of MFs biggest UK dealers he was the one who had expected new MF6600/7600 series tractors at agritechnica09!! Mind you he had only been in the job a couple of weeks having defected from JD As I understand it new tier4 rules state tractors above 174hp must comply by start of 2011 so I expect replacements for some of the longer wheelbase models which means more time for Britains to delay the release of the short wheelbase 150hp 7480

Andy
We can only assume the model is on the water and heading to the warehouse at the moment. Production has been completed on the first version so its either at sea, or in the warehouse.

Luke190
Got mine last week. I'm not totally happy with it. The hitch is OK and holds up most implements, unless I move the model to quickly or pick it up and it drops the linkage. There are a few scratches from the factory on the cab roof and bonnet ...and finally the worst thing was the cab didn't want to come off on one side, so I tried to pop the cab clip off from the underside of the mud guard and I ended up pressing on the rear wheel and screwing up its alignment Will have to pick up another 7480, at least its not expensive

ksp
Well i got one in Husum yesterday and im really pleased with it. For £11 its a nice model/toy and the hitch work fine on mine. But theres a few marks on the bonnet and i simply cant get the left wheel to stay in place. But compared to the price a nice model. I've put another wheels on it now (Fendt 718 rear andr JD 7530 in front) and trying to fit a frontloader on it. Pictures will come .
