Gav836
With that amount of models I'd have thought that the easiest option and probably the most cost effective one would be to use a specialist auction house. Would cause a lot of work for yourself using ebay with postage if nothing else \
Tractorman810
i would say the same as gav to be honest mike. the ebay fees would prob be less than a auction house, but the time posting would be stupid, unless you did them in batches over time

Deere-est
If it's that many Mike I'd book a few tables for Toytrac or get in contact with say, Vectis? http://www.vectis.co.uk/Page/Index.aspx
FB
as the others say, a specialist auctioneer, take away the hassle!, but no harm in you trying the shows first?? you have some great models in that collection, they will sell!.......except weeble R.I.P :'( :'(
ford 8830
judging by the prices at vectis today i would go to a dealer for quick sale. if time not important sell to fellow weirdos on here !!!!!!!!!!!! ebay again if not in hurry.

Leakeyvale
Like you Mike, I have a collection of models to sell - NOT farm models though. I have sold a few choice ones privately but the bulk will need moving on and I shall be contacting an auction house to sell the rest. I will not sell them on ebay because of the hassle of packing and mailing individual items not to mention working out postage costs as the models are all different weights. By sending them to auction you are spared that. I have dealt with Vectis as both a seller and buyer and they do give a good service but will charge a sellers premium on the sale price (which is vatable). However Vectis will collect the models; you do not have to take or send them. In other words by using an auction house you save yourself a lot of time and trouble. archbarch
1400 models is alot to shift Mike, i would opt for all the above suggestions choosing the model to match sale type. The problem with any auction if you overload it with supply or choice the value can be decreased, there is always only a limited number of buyers for anything. Like i said thats alot of models to shift.

I'm sure there are members here who collect other (non farm) diecast vehicles, or (like me) non-farm lead, plastic, composition & aluminium soldiers, zoo & other figures. It might be worth you at least giving us a general idea, which can be followed up by PMs for more details of specific items, so you won't need to do a detailed list of everything. OK, David, as requested. The collection is of Aston Martin (inc Lagonda) Road and Race cars from the 1930s to 2007. Also a few non-Astons. All 1:43 scale and a mixture of diecast, handbuilt and scratchbuilt models. Some have already been sold but I still have 76 to go. Perhaps I should put this in a new topic! Mike R
Thanks everyone for the comments It looks like the easiest way to sell some of my collection is having a table or two at Toytrac,if I decide to sell them. thanks again Mike
