My elderly.... and the more time that passes, I begin to think monumentally thick.... neighbour, was heard banging away next door this morning before a structural engineer was due to have a look at 'damage' to his side of the party wall as a result of our extension... I phoned the engineer after he'd surveyed and he was shocked that when he was looking at what originally must have been a very tiny hairline crack in the plaster, he discovered that my genius neighbour had set about it with a chisel or brick hammer this morning to try to make it look like the house was falling down....
