Bloody hell this topic had become a slanging match!!!, whats wrong with Masseys Justin?? my dad drove them for years and he loved them, ive always been a Ford fan and my dad and i had many interesting chats about our differences!!, though my dad would admit how he loved the Fordson Major.

Anyway back to the piont why are some of us complaining about a main stream model producer who have finally produced a 600 series Ford with a bubble cab??, ok its not perfect but its not that bad either. Personally i am a big fan of the Ford 600/700 series, childhood memories and all that so i can say stop bloody moaning and enjoy this leap in model production, if we all wish a bit harder then maybe Britains and the likes might produce a JD 3650 or even a DB 996 then we can moan about the join in the cabs of them !!!!.

Yeah right. What ever your into. ::) I spose youd never find a Massey in a yard like that. cause they normally end up incinerated in some field before they make the scrap yard . >:D

good lord no i just cant justify the expense of buying all those masseys to recreate the amount he has in his yard

Its only a bita banter ;D . MJB1 is a MF fan. Nothing at all wrong with MFs. My uncle has a mint 135 & I take it out on tractor runs myself from time to time. But I take out his Dexta & 2000 Pre Force when it aint raining. 135 has a cab see. ^-^ .Was going to buy my own tractor for a few runs ,but they seem to be dying a bad death lately. Too many of them happening all at once.

Anyway I got a second 6600 for a 4600 convo. So Ill give it a try. Shortening the block & going to give it Scaledown Ford 5000 rears & a few more mods.

Best of luck with your 4600 convo Justin and would love to see the finished result, it was a 4600 in fact that started my facination with the range, a nearly new example used to be hired in with many other older tractors for the hop harvest at the farm in Hereford where my father used to work, i was only a child at the time and the Ford obviously stood out amougst the old Massey 135s, Dextas, Majors and Nuffields that was also brought in to cart the vines from the yards to the picking sheds, the farm was 100% massey for the rest of the year so i always looked forward to the arrival of the shiney bubble cabbed Ford during hop picking, that was one reason why i got frustrated with the Britains Ford 6600 i had as a toy at the time as the cab was different, 30 years later Britains have fianlly got it right...

Cheers Steve. Ive a 4000 almost completed. Im doing a 4000,4600 & County 4000 FOUR. So plenty 3cyls on the agenda. Just waiting on bits from a few speacialist model part suppliers like wheels, decals and other bits. My very first tractor toy was also a Britains 6600. Dint last long in my hands back then. ;D

When my father had a farm years ago ,he started with a Dexta, then a 3000 Delux cab & 4000 Delux ,4600 Fritzmeir cab & finaly a SQ cab 6610 4WD. He latter sold on teh farm due to back & spine problems. I was a bit too young at the time to go farming, so my uncle bought it up. At the time we were milking around 120 cattle on a 170 acres with another 50 rented. Those tractors done their fare share of heavy work in their day. I remember the 4600 carting silage with a 16ft trailer on the long 6 mile runs from the land my dad had rented back to the home farm. The contractor only had 2 tractors for carting ,so we stepped in with the 4600 to help out & the 4000 was buckraking on the pit with duals on her. The contractor had a 7700 with a Taarup double chop & a 6600 & 5000 carting. The 4600 was well able to keep the pace with them. The 4000 ,4600 & 4610s were rockets in their day. Those were the days back in the mid 80's.

Totally bowled over by my Britains 7600! It really evokes a period of my life for me. What a shame they still can't get the Internationals right! Yesterday I bought the new 2 wheel drive version only to find that the decal/sticker had dropped off in the box AGAIN! Took it back and found that the replacement one offered had poor stickers AND a sidelight broken off. Come on Britains, you've got it so right with the Fords, why make the Inernationals such a donkey! (Sorry to go off on a rant, but I DID mention the Fords..). Can't wait to get the smaller version too. Also finally got around to a Kane trailer - I had to get something to replace the duff International, (ha ha!). All very nice, but looks a bit flimsy on the rear door for play. As I don't play with my farm toys, I'm fine with that. Happy in Ford Heaven at least!
