Because ploughing horizontally on a field like that would be foolish with all the rain we are getting this time of year. . Those furrows would only hold rainwater on the horizontal.. hence why he may have went out again and went at it in the vertical. !!! If this is the case it seems is making a pure mess of his field !! Field was being whole cropped before fully ready as it was probably full of blackgrass. You have to get it now before the blackgrass sheds its seeds. Bales will be wrapped just the same as silage.
