Jez
I'm not criticising here CJ but the bale spikes I have used always had the tines higher up so you got more lift height out of them. Does that make sense? If yours were about 20 mm higher they would be perfect. I love the bales too. I have been thinking of thrying to make something similar for myself. ;) ;D
CJ
thanks for the good comments jez - i have seen one like that too but i based these on one were i worked for a few months, also the farmmaster will only reach 3 high so it works ok, its a good way of makeing bales i would like to find a better material for makeing them other than real straw and these bales are just a bit too long still

On the bale front try sticking fine sawdust or grass with PVA to blocks of timber cut to the size of bale you need and add the strings . CJ
Cj the yard is looking great. On the bale front try sticking fine sawdust or grass with PVA to blocks of timber cut to the size of bale you need and add the strings . cheers garret yes thought about doing that for the wraped silage bales, but if i do the straw bales this way i can acctually spike the bales, so i just need to get the size of the bales adjusted a bit more
smallclaas
Cj try making a mold from timber, then get some grass from the lawn dry it out, then shred it with a food processor till it's nice and fine. Now mix some PVA around 1part water to PVA then mix in with the shreded grass now add the mix to the mold. It may work ??? you'll still be able to spike the bales, as for the PVA mix you might need to try different strenghts to see what works best Quote from: Tractorman810 on April 10, 2008, 08:05:11 pm pack it well and spray some pva mix in to it as well, before you remove the mould your using, should hold it all together so you can string / net it up then Must try that one Sean. Knew I heard it somewhere
