Dusty Dan
The John Deere Model “B” tractor. One of the most popular John Deere tractors of it’s time, perhaps one of the most popular ever. More than 306,000 of this model were built from 1935 through 1952. It was the perfect size for many farmers and especially appealed to small farm owners. It was about two thirds the size of the model “A” in power, weight and dimensions, but with all the advanced features of the model “A”. Dusty Dan
From January 1942 through March 10, 1947, 9,920 GM tractors were produced by John Deere. Since I hadn’t bought anything for a while, and I actually have little room left for that matter, I went to a dealer today and bought this model GM adult collectible and a new hat. Since my birthday is right around the corner, I thought that I should have something. And my old hat was becoming a bit tattered. I have donated some of my past collection to the church for their annual garage sale.

Hajo
Nice JD's here, that GM is really a nice model, the rims on the B look a bit toylike ... but a GM? I know there was a G-series tractor, the largest of the bunch. Usually the letter G was followed by another letter, for instance a N for a single-wheel narrow front. What does the M stand for?
Dusty Dan
Thank you. The B is actually considered a toy as the ones for collectors say for ages 14 and up, like the prestige and precision models, and is one of the later model B tractors as the earlier one had the spoked wheels. The M stands for “modernized.” https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=jd&th=487177
Hajo
Ah great, I get the whole idea. So the G would be the unstyled version and a GM the styled one.
wynne rees
You've got some cracking models there Dan. There is so much more choice in the US than here in UK. I love the old Eska models and have bought three from the States, being a JD trailed combine, baler and plough which take pride of place in my cupboard.

mb86
Lovely collection Corky, some fantastic detail in those 16th scale models. This might interest you, I took the photo back in March at a local tractor run, one of very few cabless tractors on the day, a decision which I'm sure the owner was questioning with the horizontal sleet and snow as they headed over the fells. I did feel sorry for them as I sat in my nice warm (well, slightly warm) land rover.
844john
I think that's David Hodgson from Hutton Magna, I saw he had it on the tractor run for Robert on Good Friday, mind the weather was a bit different then! 19 minutes ago, mb86 said: Lovely collection Corky, some fantastic detail in those 16th scale models. Dusty Dan
John Deere Model “A” 1:16 scale die cast from the World Toy Show. No year. Picked it up at an antique mall. No other mfg. stamp. Actual tractor manufactured from 1934 to 1952. 26 horsepower. After some research, it looks like it was made in 1992 by Scale Model Toys Dyersville ,Iowa. Dusty Dan
I was up in the attic searching for parts of an old train set and came across these 1:64 scale toys. I had forgotten that I even had them:
