weblet375
I've been driving around Suffolk/Norfolk for work lately and noticed that the osr crop looks shorter then normal. Is because it's dry lately.
robbo
There have been a number of comments elsewhere about the poor quality of the Rape crop this year especially in the south and east, I think both Smithy and Chris Watson have mentioned that if it carries on it will not be worth growing in the future. I went to Essex a couple of weeks ago and the OSR crop looked very poor and patchy, comparing that to the crop here in the north west which is good and has full ground cover but then we do get a lot more rain that the south and east so you might be right. smithy
The dry weather will have made it shorter , what little I have is all different heights as some parts of the field hold on to the moisture better than other parts , as it is shorter there is less room for the pods if there is a few pods close together the seeds will be very small
