Laser cutting service for 0.4mm brass?

Barry

Question

Does anybody know of a company that would laser cut 0.4mm brass?

I've found a few companies that do laser cutting, but mainly plastic, acrylic, card etc

Might also be worth asking someone on 3D Printing UK,A 3D printer can fairly easily be converted to a laser cutter,

I think I remember seeing something about a few guys getting some brass parts laser cut either by or through perfect32?

I haven't kept up to date on laser cutting for about 5 years, but to my knowledge to cut any metal requires quite a powerful laser with some special extras because I fmetals reflective properties. Therefore even 0.4mm brass requires a cutter on the level and cost of those that can cut 3mm steel etc. It would possibly be worth messaging a local company that does metal fabrication, though I expect any hobbiest's volume of cutting wouldn't justify the cost for setting up the material and the time to cut.

Given that it's thin brass I'd suggest looking for a photo etching company, or having a go with a DIY photo etch kit?
