NIGEL FORD
Nice to see a Schluter for a change, an acquaintance of ours was pestered to have one by a local rep, saying how reliable they are (this was back in '81) as they are all made in house. When we had a good look at them at RECO's in Huntingdon we found MAN engines & ZF front axles & a big price tag. I've got a few custom models of various ones, 'hope more appear in the future from Siku/Schuco etc.at affordable prices.
ihatepoundland
Was it reliable?
NIGEL FORD
He didn't buy one, ...too expensive. He stuck to JD's & his 3140 died when doing our bullock silage (powering a 3760 trailed precision chop loading in-line). The injectors packed up... just like that,& at about 30 quid each ( he said it does happen with them!). We never had any Ford injectors pack up & they were only about a tenner, & when we did change them at the recommended time hardly noticed any difference with the new ones. CX820Joe
They are interesting Tractors, a bit different from the Norm...I've never seen one, but was reading the yearly reports on Oliver Walstons web site and it seemed he ran a few of them - E5000V's and 7800TVL's were mentioned. Did any of the 1250's ever come to the UK? Some more models would be nice - saw Valtra130's E5000 on the conversions section and then found the price on the Tyro Toys site - works out to just under ?200! :o So I would agree that more of this marque from Siku would be welcome Joe
Eurodeere
Nigel I don't suppose you have any piccies of the 3140/3760 combi in action? What a great outfit, at least it didn't have worries about porous blocks Those Schluters were some beasts and expensive to boot. I wonder how many they managed to sell in the UK? Would be nice to see some affordable models, UH are you listening!
