An Interested Spectator
I have some reproduction resin cabs that i am trying to paint. Despite giving the surfaces a light rub down with fine glass paper i cannot get the paint to take to the resin. It is almost as if there are wax patches that the paint runs straight off. Anyone known how to deal with this ?
TM190
if it was me i would use primer first then paint on top of it \

sparrow legs
could be the resin, i had a problem a while back with a bonnet that wouldnt take, as you say its like patches of wax on the item.
The Deere Hunter
Have you tried washing all parts first in warm soapy water ?? this does the trick ;)
Agrium
warm soapy water is right, then you could put etch primer onto the cab, which is like a wattery liquid, you can paint on with a brush and it wont leave brush marks, then when dry your paint will take
Tractorman810
i had this problem a while back with a resin, no matter what i di it would take paint full stop, "easy flow 60" ,must have been a dodgy batch, as i bought some a month ago and this stuff is fine
An Interested Spectator
Thanks for the replies guys. After posting this i did try giving it a good scrub with washing up liquid and an old tooth brush. It did let the paint take a bit better, but still not the best.
