New JCB Fastrac

Found some pics of the new JCB Fastrac 8250 while I'm still waiting to go on holiday It's rumoured to have 248Hp and a 65k top speed. Also think it has a Fendt Vario transmission. ?It looks a nice big tractor, I just hope britains can do it justice :D ;)

It looks big to me aswell Sean, the size of the boonet and wheels look massive compared tonthe amazone drill behind it, and they aren't that small  :o :D

Yeah, it looks bigger than the current Fastrac 3220 etc. The bonnet looks like a cross between a Fendt Vario (900 series) and MB Trac bonnet.

looks very nice wouldent mind one of them have to have a word with the boss and tell him it will pull to artic trailers fully over loaded :D

Same here MF fan,

Most jcb tractors I've seen around here are more or less only used for road work with root crop trailers or sprayers.

I don't think they will sell very well over here myself.

The main use in the Fens is towing Marston type trailers full of root crops as well.  Occasionally you see one being used as a proper tractor.  We also get to see the odd sprayer conversion and a 3 axle version used by the telephone people.  (Que TM810).

There not to bad in the field but no way as good as a normal concept tractor because at a ploughing match we did a comparison a MF 8240 (the one i know well) against a 3185 both with 6 furrow ploughs the fastrac did an ok job but the MF went quite a bit faster and had a lot less trouble starting or keeping the same pace in a hard patch the Massey absoulutly thrashed the fastrac in daily output due to the MF being able to keep a the pace going in hard patches and at a faster forward speed

If any of you have Stephen & Jonathans Tractor Spotting videos, there a Fastrac pulling a trailed forager, doesn't look right atall.

all these comments sum it up really ,a jcb fast trac is really a light off road lorry unit better suited for highways than a tractor,but people seem to buy them,prehaps this is the reason for the new bigger one,actually give it field abillity to
