JOHN DEERE 3300

Recommended Posts

Looking great Paul. The Siku model looked awful but the machines themselves weren't that bad looking.

Always looked better in Renault colours to my mind, the shape & cab design didn't fit at all with JD's family styling.

We bought a Renault Ceres 85 new in 1995 [?] and it was a super little tractor, bit of a camel but very able.

They were painted green as part of the reciprocal deal with Renault's use of the DPS engines in the then new Ceres & Ares ranges. Renault got the engines, Deere got a free tractor. I think Deere did better out of it though - they sold more engines to Renault than Renault sold tractors to Deere....

Fancy doing a [cough] Renault one for me in the future?

Thanks for the info Simon :)

If you find a nice Siku Ceres and send it to me i'll do you one mate ;)

You're welcome. Some more useless Renault tractor trivia from me!!  :D

I SO NEARLY bought one at Spalding with this very thing in mind.... but I was spent up and it would have taken me out of cash into debit card territory which I'd sworn I wouldn't do - well, after the two uses in the morning of course ;)

Superb job mate, really looks the part. One very small tweak to it which will make a little but possibly worthwhile difference....?

The panel below the back window was one big glass panel [may even have been removable?] with the frame the same colour as the cab.

But running between the bottom of the back window and the top of lower back window and across between the mudguards [phew!] was a body coloured panel which the number plate sat on....
