CMB Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Has anyone made a round bale fork with a single spike that attaches to a vintage front loader? If it looked anything like NHFE's, I'd snap it up right away. Guess the spike would have to be small enough to fit through old round bales though. I took a photo of a David Brown 995 with one in Dorset about 20 years ago. I'm surprised that Britains didn't release any round bale handling equipment with the old Loadall/front loader sets. For that matter, I haven't seen any round bale handling equipment for the more recent loaders.. Quote
fordson major Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I think you have made a good job of this and it makes a change to see something different to scratch built buckrakes well done. Quote
johndeerelad Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 what type of tractor are you going to use that on? a uh? Quote

new holland 4 ever Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 thanks everybody, I will be using it on my converted mc 115 with a loader on the front and that on th back (the tractor now has a nearly finished scratch built 3 point linkage) Quote

Was a shade to big so it meant drilling out the Britains bale centres. Like MJ says though, it is an easy thing to have a go at making. Quote
1/32collector Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 that is a good simple idea will do it at the weekend when i get home. (the simple ideas are the best) will put up photos when i have it done apart from using the pallet froks no they didn't . next time you go to a show mate , go through the rummage boxes , find some serviceable pallet forks , snap forks off, get a nail with same diameter as the hole in bale , drill through backplate , push nail through ,glue & paint , sorted Quote
CMB Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I saw a bale prong sitting in one of Brian Norman's trays at Toytrac, but it was snapped up pretty quickly Quote
Tractorman810 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 dave twose used to do a bale handler for the older britains loader/ jcb, just a old back plate of the pallet one with a nail fixed through it, same size as the hole in the bales, held ok to, i have one somewhere, he also do a rear one the same Quote
