I went and helped one of my neighbours by drilling 20 acres for him as his own tractor a CLAAS ARES 656 RZ has broken it crown wheel and pinion in its back axle also standing in his yard was his RENAULT 90-34 TRACFOR .The CLAAS 620 ARION was a hire tractor to cart his sugar beet into Bury St Edmunds beet factory

I have been helping my mates at BARKING ENGINEERING we had to fit a liner inside a chimney then fit a double sided wood burner so it would heat both the bar and dining area .Working in a pub for two days was great fun cherry picker outside to reach top of chimney was not so good as it was raining and bit windy
  4. Thank you I don't always keep it that straight but that field is in full view to my neighbours that have got GPS so had to stay awake on that field
  5. spent Saturday pressing the 26 acres I had ploughed on Friday with a 3-5meter Edlington Press and MTX155 MCcormick
  6. I normally just do the local farms but have done some of the distance farms in the past.When he is away lifting beet and his father needs a hand in his yard I go over and help load FIBROPHOS FERTILISER as he stores and blends it on the farm
  7. Yes he covers about 2000 acres but it does depend on the weather and how long the campaign lasts this year Bury St Edmunds factory opens on the 15th September so he plans to start lifting on the 10th as the factory likes to how there is a stock pile of beet ready for processing
  8. No baler worked fine now an again sledge plays up if you are following a tramline .
  9. Yes he did not tell me what he paid but he said he could have bought a real big house for the same money
  10. my neighbour that I help with sugar beet lifting took delivery of his new HOLMER T4 beet harvester on Friday and parked next to it is his HOLMER chaser
  11. Been spreading LIME X on next years beet land at 3 tons to the acre or 7.5 tons hectare also put some on a field going into barley spread 120 tons today
  12. I have been cutting my last field of wheat today moisture got down to 16% so got going and finished
  13. the John Deere planting my rape belongs to Guy Hitchcock he farms next door to me I often go over his to help when he needs a extra driver
  14. the discs make a nice tilth for the seeds which are spread behind where the six legs are which are in the ground about 10 inches or 25cm the second press helps to push it all down to save the moisture in the ground also having it pressed down helps to stop the slugs eating to much as you can see its all done in one pass so its quicker in the end
  15. these two are from about 2 weeks ago I was cutting oil seed rape will get some more pictures hopefully a bit closer in next few days as I still have 3 fields of wheat to cut. Combine is a NEW HOLLAND TX 34
  16. bit late with these photos as it was previous weekend I put my son Wayne on the baler the wife Julie was on the tractor and trailer carting and I was on the flat eight loading we started at 12pm and by 9pm we had baled and carted 900 bales
  17. we have been planting oil seed rape the last two days it was a bit wet Monday morning as we had 36mm of rain over weekend had to drop the press off for first two fields as the soil would not go though but the sun was out so it soon dried out so put press back on
  18. Went to the OLD NEWTON fun day and road run I think there was 26 tractors on the road run and 6 on static display we had one heavy shower whilst on the run but a good day out for all that took part
  19. Most of my bags are agricultural related and don't take up much room like you say but I have got at least 3 draws full . I also got pens with agri names on ,them things you can squeeze with agri names on (stress balls) a few tax discs from tractors we have owned in the past and one or two other nick-nack items
  20. Clad to see i:m not the only one to collect carrier bags BC ,allow the wife thinks i:m strange here is a picture of 5 bags my mate gave to me over the weekend he was going to put them in the bin

  22. Yes we got a flat 8 grab but we was the wrong side of the rail line in Needham market and the bridge is only 8 feet high and its 10 miles to go round so used smaller transport to get under and some where sold to horsey people so did small loads.Did you recognize one of my helpers?
  23. With a bit of help today(Friday) we baled and carted 1020 small bales from 4 fields which was good as its now just passed midnight and its raining
