  1. i got a room that has shelving all around, i used a simple rail system on which glass shelves have been placed of 5 mm thick . it works well, even for the diecast 1:16 models that weigh 20 pounds! Made glass sliding doors but you have to round the corners and make/cut a grip in each door. from experience i would however stick to your initial idea of making wooden frames with glass inbetween, those would work much nicer. Also dont use wooden shelfing, you will loose a lot of light on the models when you wish to light them. Keep outside light out of the cabinets as well.. Am going to experiment with plexiglas plates instead of glass, as glass might break and damage your models in the process... but do not know yet how it will handle the weight and how much light it will absorb/let through
  2. i am sure that if you are looking for a certain model, you'll find someone on here that will help you out.. I have the same problem vice versa as i collect mainly 1:16 models that are only available in North America
  3. those look like they have come straight from the factory.. fantastic restorations!!!
  4. thanks David and Bill, an awesome start of the topic filled with loads of great pictures of roadless conversions and Roadless tractors... i have loved every second of going through this topic with all the (mostly beautifully restored) vintage tractors you both have captured at rally's! makes me want to go to one of the bigger rallies in Holland next July... keep 'm coming everyone!
  5. thank you for the first contribution SPN!!! massive field of classics there *
  6. what a fantastic built already... extremely skillful.. that header is already amazing!!! this is a topic i must follow!
  7. well.. as mentioned in the County Tractors work and play topic... here is a start for the Roadless brand... please share your pictures of the Roadless tractors here.. in any condition they are... if it turns out even half the great topic as the County Tractors, this is more then worthwhile looking at ... and now i am going to source where the Roadless pictures have hidden in my archives.. meanwhile Bill (BC) has promised to add pictures out of his massive collection on here
  8. great topic.. love the pictures of the various county's including the crawlers.. maybe start another topic of the Roadless creations as well ? i made a couple of pictures a few months ago of some County's in various states of (dis)repair, should check where they are and put them here..
  9. it is totally the way around in Holland. Domestic bank transfers are free!!!! within Europe in can however cost between 4 to 10 euro's, but there is talk that this is going to be free as well and that all european union members that have a bankaccount, will have a new bank account number which makes it much easier to transfer money through the banking system... strange thing is, paying by cheque is extremely expensive over here.. around 40 euro's to cash a cheque!!!!! , so pretty much useless to pay with those.. gotta love Paypal though, to make paying sooooo much easier internationally...
  10. hello Jason, if (by the looks of it) you are a Deere fanatic, it is helpful to check the Siku and Britains releases every year as they usually have one or two new releases of Deere every year. They are however mostly European versions of the Deere's made in Mannheim, Germany. btw, if you love the Prestige series, check out the releases of the 6930/7430 made by Wiking in 1:32 !!!!! those are on the same level of detail as the Precision series
  11. pre-transfer is most likely a "bank-transfer" a very common way to pay within Europe's mainland using IBAN and BIC codes. Then it takes up to 5 days before the payment is processed between banks.. just email Henry, he'll help you out (is time for him though to make an English version of his site ).
  12. there is no 1884 in Holland according to my sources and there is a Belgian collector of County tractors (has about 7) that has an 1884. Quite possibly is the one measeured, have to check with one of my friends if he got a picture of that one..
  13. i know what you mean Sjaak! , think i will have to limit myself even further if i want to keep up.. probably by not adding any standard UH release for a while..
  14. of all the massey brochures Mark has put in front of me so far , i love the Combine ones the most.. especially the older stuff with the great action pictures on the cover.. looks like you are getting those kind of very nice brochures as well now.. will be following this closely, although throwing some Clayson brochures in the mix would be rather nice
  15. thanks guys, definately wont be having the brochure collection near completion for another 10 years or so as i am in the process of scanning my complete collection, i sometimes stumble upon a brochure that was not yet in my database... One of those brochures was this Sherman Gearbox brochure (Ford official gearbox option) that was tucked away in another older brochure... (1961 USA) and another couple of brochures arrived last week: Lambourn cab for Ford 2600/3600 New Holland TNN (2000 UK) County Hi-Drive (752H) (1970 UK) County 1184 Forward Control County 1254 1454
  16. that scale is highly unusual for most scratch builders. Know a couple that make stuff in 1:64 but not smaller.... There seems to be more kit out from Siku lately in that scale though!
  17. so if i have read it correctly, there will be a TW25 and a TW25 Force II from Marge ?
  18. another 1500 i am pretty much there.. shouldnt take too long i know about the similarities following your topic, MF must have seen those gorgeous brochures from Ford back in the days ;P time for the newest additions: New Holland 525 forage harvester (UK 1987) New Holland 819 forage harvester (UK 1987) New Holland 339 & 342 forage harvesters (UK 1987) New Holland BB(920) (UK 2004) New Holland BR-A(740A,750A) (UK 2005) New Holland BR-A(550,560A,560A Combi) (UK 2006)

    Shopaholic?

it definately is strange to see so many purchases. Must have gigantic pockets but it seems he pays well.. no bad feedback anywhere...
  20. hahaha, i was putting all the 7610/7610 Force II and 7610 Gen III on one heap of the newest/announced releases.. if i should make a list of the 7610 versions, it would be much longer like: Ford 7610 DBP Brian Norman Marge Models (2wd/4wd) LMF limited edition based on Marge Models (2wd/4wd) UH Lonestar (3 versions) Ford 7610 II DBP Marge Models (4 variations(2wd/4wd/box)) (wasnt UH supposed to make all versions?) Ford 7610 III DBP UH (thought Marge Models was also going to make all versions?) (thought one of the more well known custom builders (Nigel Ford???) also made one with using the UH 7810 as base model?) all in all, way to big of a shelf needed for the 7610's
  21. Atte, does this mean that the tractor seen on the laptop has been measured to make an exact replica off? I can understand Marge wanting to make the most out of the casting of a TW but.... i am seeing a trend developing: 3 different Case 600 quadtracs, 3 x JD 990 baler, 4x Ford TW25, 5x Ford 7610, 3x County 1474 i for one am not waiting on having the same tractor type in 3 versions, have trouble imagining who is??
  22. great collection! some amazing models in there.. he sure has plenty to restore if he wishes too.. nice to see this saved for future generations!
  23. it seems the Britains brand is getting a new life where models will be atleast or even better then the much loved 70's and 80's era models they made. of all the Ford's being released at the moment, these 2 i am the most excited about, drove a 6600 like that for a contractor a decade and a half ago
  24. i am from holland, but i have never seen a discharge system with hydraulic arm etc. on any of the slurry trucks! We get about 10 trucks a year and they all are pretty much the same. Most are a bit sturdier liquid containers you normally see milk trucks driving with.. you might get a bunch of images using google and the words "mestvervoer" and "mesttransport" or "mestdistributie" here are a few company's that specialize in slurry transport http://www.berkhofbv.nl/grondwerken/mesttransport.php http://www.verkooyen.nl/Mestdistributie_Mesttransport_Transportwagens.html http://www.houbraken.nl/mestdistributie the bottom link might prove useful to see the back end of the truck with the vacuum pump etc..
  25. ohhhhh Rick, how i love your randomness.. Sounds suspiciously like....
