  1. looks pretty good Barry! i had to check at my toy room if mine was still there, i would swear it is the same box i have in my collection
  2. Andy, were you supposed to put up a link to the catalogue? looking forward to the auction, seen the pictures of the auction through the link on the homepage of FTF
  3. really interesting tractors, some must be produced in very limited numbers i would think? the International AW-7 look a real stunner!
  4. i thought the J&M grain wagons were huge, but that Dustin Farm Engeneering thing is from another planet great fertilizer, not seen one that big, you dont have to fill her up every three acres for sure keep 'm coming!
  5. Bazza, you know it has only one rightful place if Sir John wishes to depart from it and that is between my John Leathers Clayson M140, ACA Clayson M103 and Johan Bos New Holland 2305
  6. i have quite a few Honk Kong manufactured farm models in my collection, but hardly any figurines except of the named "Blue-box" series of which i have about 8 sets.. The tractors from them are look-a-likes plastic Corgi rip-offs it seems. i have for instance a Fordson Power Major with cattle-box wagon and a set of pigs which seems to look a lot like a well known Corgi set, as i am working on my collection website, i still have to photograph all the blue box sets in my collection, will try to speed up the process for these soon..
  7. some fantastic models judging from your pictures David, i am really looking forward to add these to my collection as well (no surprise there, but i have been skipping most of the latest new releases and been concentrating more on DBP and G&B models creations that rock my boat much more then the UH releases for instance.
  8. another fine topic here, thank you once again for sharing! i love the lead figures from Britains, have a couple of them (Mainly F-series) and hope to add more of them to the collection in the future..
  9. i see i havent posted in here for a while, and there is no excuse i added another 100 brochures of which 40 German New Holland brochures from around 2002 and 2008 (wont bore you with those less interesting brochures) so here are my Spalding purchases instead (and the first two are from "Stehos" on here that were lacking my collection (although i cant officially say they are added to the collection as i still got to pay for them ..) 10. never heard of them, but this is another topic that is very interesting to read about! thank you again for sharing your knowledge on here, much appreciated
  11. looks much more professional. glad to see another miniature related website from Wijchen (i'll add a link on mine) the models page is fantastic with the pop-up picture function. your home page picture slide function has a bug in it though, it only shows the second picture for less then a second and gets back to picture number one on my computer.. keep up the good work!
  12. really interesting topic! thank you for sharing! maybe this would be a nice start of a piece in Model Farmer ? the only thing from Benbros in my collection is a Ford Ferguson/Ferguson TE that was made in many colours but of which i cant tell much either that they were made by Benbros
  13. no surprises there, i think all no.1's were also on my list.. but more importantly, a flipping 500 voters is fantastic! very proud for FTF to create such an interest and i think it would be great that manufacturers are taking note from the collectors and their appreciation for the models they produce..
  14. fantastic brochures, a website dedicated to one brand literature is certainly a great way to promote and showcase your collection. It is also a way to share the wealth of information you have gathered throughout the years. as Ronald says (he does have one of the best websites about one brand dedicated literature) it is a hellish of a job to scan everything and set up a website. I also am working on a website about my collection and it is a huge amount of work (been working on it for over 18 months already and still have 20% of my brochure collection and 35% of my modelcollection to go...) the best of luck with your website, i will definately be following your proceeds!
  15. Hello, i got a dozen or two SpecCast models in my collection, of which some are agricultural related trucks and pickups that according to the box, are limited editions.. but for the life of me, i cant figure out how to find out how limited these are. Does anyone know how many models are in a regular limited edition released by SpecCast themselves?
  16. i would definately look into the First Gear models as well.. i own various 1:34 scaled First Gear models and they are unbelievably detailed.. When i started collecting farm models, i used to visit a local shop that had a huge selection of 1:50 construction models, mostly Cat and Volvo and back then, JOAL had some really stunning detailed models, probably comparable to the UH models nowadays, a very select few entered my dads collection then, and i think he still got a Volvo ADT from that time. Around that time (mid 90's) i bought one of my first none Britains/Ertl/Siku tractor models: a Joal JCB backhoe/loader, that too was much more detailed then any other farm model in my collection back then, so maybe (i dont know if they still make models) Joal is also something to look into).
  17. what a wonderful show. Well worth a visit it seems! of course i have to comment on the Ford collection what an awesome collection, it seems to be very very complete with all the small detailed differences in them as well, and all boxed.. I have spotted quite a few of which i did not know there were more variations of, would be interesting to meet this guy and talk models
  18. very nice additions, love the Steiger line-up and from what i hear, there is a Steiger Tiger coming as well later this year, I am sure that will join these models PDC does make fine conversions, 2 bad i do not collect conversions or a couple would have found their way home with me over the past years.., that said, with his ever increasing skills and seeing what he changes of the base models, they can hardly be called conversions anymore, but rather scratchbuilt models... so maybe i should look into his models...
  19. Living with a proffesional photographer, i know most pictures are tweaked in some ways, but mostly to enhance the subject and get rid of stuff that distracts from the subject or to straigten the horizon or to get rid of imperfections, those are always with a certain subtlety. I much prefer it that way. Your original pictures are mostly very good and dont require much enhancement in my opinion. Especially the saturation of the pictures has gone to far it seems where the final product looks more like a sketch rather then a picture , if you want to let the colours come out better, you might want to use less saturation, or rather use the Vibrence option in Photoshop.. one thing i have learned is that you can enhance pictures as much as you want, but if it is not a good picture to start with, it wont come out well enough. Now i have checked out your originals on here and you do seem to have a knack for angles and shooting away from the sun in preferably partly clouded sunny skies, those make for the best pictures, so keep up the good work and shoot as much as you can (you can better have a choice out of 10 great pictures then only 1 or 2, the more you shoot, the more critical you get)!
  20. very nice customizing! i had no idea there were movable axles and even more, moveable 3-point hitches available.. That makes them even more suitable for diorama's with various implements attached, great job!
  21. welcome David, great to see another person from the other side of the world post on here, we have several New Zealand members and also quite a few American members who collect 1:64 (as well as a few of european members (of which i am one), so you will feel right at home i think. Looking forward to your contributions, from customized models, to entire collection, to drawings to maybe 1:1 scale farming as it is always interesting to see farming and the take on farming from different countries accross the globe! enjoy the forum!
  22. great score, i was following this lot on ebay as well and i think i left a small bid on it, not the second highest though as i have quite a few of these already. Glad it went to a fellow FTF member though! , Love the Sperry-New Holland brochures, especially those of the mid 70's fantastic additions! dont come accross the whole set often...
  23. the only model made of the 8160 by any of the manufacturers would be a 1:16 example made by Ertl! I dont think you will find one for sale in europe though, and even in America they seldom come up for sale, although the price would not be gigantic, about 40-50 pounds i think. But for a 1:32 example, i'd recommend purchasing the 8560 made by Replicagri, the only exterior difference with an 8160 would be the fuel tank (which is larger on the 8560) i think. Order some 8160 decals from Hollylovestoys, or Agrium or Nigel Ford and your friend will have a very nice detailed model!
