  1. Mine should be coming from darkest Norfolk, due to past good service but I would agree with the theory of bigger dealer probably equals bigger allocation. In this case, the parts guy also wanted to get himself one, so maybe a fair amount of chasing went on; something some other dealers may not bother with \
  2. I'm afraid that all of his are spoken for. Bit odd that one dealer can get some, I was just wondering if more were entering the system nationally
  3. Mine is waiting for me at the dealer, all of the ten he ordered arrived. Is this happening elsewhere?
  4. I got quoted £63.53 from a fendt dealer, that is £55 + 15% Vat, did they charge you VAT on yours?
  5. The dealership I've been in contact with in the Uk had an allocation of 10 and of those 4 should be arriving, so I think there may be a few more out there than first suspected \. He also said some of the other market's allocation may be sent here....so if you have an order in, fingers crossed.
  6. That's useful. I don't yet own one, but seeing it next to the Siku 7530 and next to the Deutz TTV R38 wheels on Barry's 7710, it looks to me as if Wiking have used scaled 42 inch rims with tyres of too large a section to be fitted to a 6930, I'm happy to be wrong on this. Looks like the prototype was closer to R38s
  7. With all due respect, previous answers aren't necessarily the answer. I would like to get to the bottom of this and was exploring an avenue involving the tyre sizes, not the bonnet which seems to have been the focus so far, I'm sorry if that is tedious and pedantic, but why criticise the chance for discussion, this is a farm toys discussion board?
  8. Any luck on this anyone? I don't own one of the models, but seeing it next to other tractors, it looks as if it is on (scaled ) 42s \
  9. Oh well...maybe next time I guess even with the greater supply, demand was even greater due to the value of the last BB.
  10. And a little bit of part of the differential as well...at least three teeth of it The differential guard was attached at the time, but is still missing in action. That is what he said when he saw the cost of a new axle!
  11. Brother's landrover..... oh dear!
  12. I always assumed they had smaller tyres on the outside so that they only came into play when the going got sticky, on hard surfaces only the insides in real contact, therefore less resistance...probably wrong Nice pictures.
  13. I'm prepared for the fallout from asking this.....can you get a 6930 with 42 inch rears?
  14. I think it is a tad too far back but maybe hard to tell from these angles, the real thing looks to have a long wheelbase, I think the axle should be nearer the first cut out in the bonnet rather than under the second...turning the steering to see where the mudguards would hit the bonnet should solve this point though \
  15. I've seen one before with a darker silvery grey frame, is it an early/import? Nice model btw
  16. I think it would look good with a bit more texture, it looks like it'd have to be wet mud due to the thickness in some areas. Maybe lose the mud on the roof

    Schuco 2009

The Schluter looks like it could win the "most re-tyred model of the year" award (overtaking the JD 7920) if they release it like that.
  18. Dealer I spoke to said that although they get an allocation, it doesn't mean they will actually recieve anything. Has happened previously apparently.
  19. Have a look on ebay, there are a few sellers that I guess are selling older stock, purchased before the price rises, at around around £42-45. One seller was selling the 936 in a dealer box for £33, very nice
  20. Did you also learn about contradictions? You formed a view based on examples from 20 years ago even though the current Britain's range shows that modern tractors are built on fresh platforms, the only rehashes have been the old artics and they are like for like models anyway. You then can't understand why people may criticise you for holding a poorly thought out, unfounded view; even though you beleive criticism yeilds improvement?
  21. Thanks, very interesting, you obviously know your stuff, there is a few things there I hadn't considered. The crux of the original question though was why mention of torque is far outweighed by people talking about H.P outputs when torque might be the more useful figure, is it just that horsepower is easier relate to?
  22. I think they've got to be one step ahead of the conversionists! Always easier to cut things off I guess
  23. Generally bigger, heavier engines have more leverage and therefore more torque and inertia. What I find odd though, you could have take two 155(engine)hp turbo'd inline 6 tractors but one would produce 522 lb-ft (8.1l), the other 644.6 lb-ft (6.7l). Quite a difference if you only go by horsepower.
