Finally (after two years albeit a little half-heartedly) caught up with Scottish Borders Produce pea vining. These shots were taken about a kilometre away from here and a few fields nearby remain to be harvested.
The harvest has started on the farm I live on here in Berwickshire. The shots taken from an elevated position are from my study I was out as a passenger in the Ford but the light was going too much by that time hence only one poor shot. Hopefully some more pics tomorrow.
The other side to a story like this is a photo I was a runner up with on here was printed out ready to be framed and sent to the owner with a nice letter, and I also sent a disc of images to another farmer and heard absolutely nothing. If I had it to do now...
I generally do not ask permission to take photographs although I tend to try and catch the driver's eye, give a thumbs up or a wave. Most operators seem quite happy and relaxed, although I have had the occasional guy who looks rather bemused. I certainly wouldn't enter a yard to take shots, or take images of machinery stored there.
Unfortunately, Blackbirds make such a racket when a potential threat is anywhere near the nest that it draws the attention of everything in the neighbourhood to it. This simply confirms that indeed there must be something worth a predator looking for!
It's also the Blackbird suicide season...they fly low across roads rather than above them...!
Still not sure whether I will go to this, Bill. To be honest it's lost its appeal after three years. Certainly, the viewing isn't the best and there could do with a bit more effort being put into the events and so on.
