  1. Could one of you kind people identify the breeds here:
  2. Cheers Bill. It's looking a bit ify for next weekend now, I'll see how things go this week.
  3. Great shots Andrew. A few lime spreading shots is on my 2010 hit-list!
  4. Sad news; I have bought the occasional item from TT and been very impressed with their service.
  5. Thanks very much for all your replies, guys. A fascinating read.
  6. Found this interesting little personnel-carrying tracked vehicle near Daer Reservoir in South Lanarkshire (just off the M74 at Elvanfoot, south of Abington). I think it is being used to transport workers up to a new windfarm. Nice piece of kit.
  7. I'd really like to get some good shots of gritters/snow blowers - need to see what I can do at the weeekend!
  8. With this inclement weather, just wondered if anyone had any shots (or indeed, any interest) in gritting rigs?
  9. Lovely shots, and not a snow flake in sight!
  10. I thought they'd be available by now...
  11. Very thick fog yesterday evening, not quite as thick tonight. Currently 4.5 degC.
  12. Caught up with (probably) the same machine working between Greengairs and Cumbernauld on another RSPB site last Sunday. Unfortunately, I couldn't spend long at the site, and didn't fancy the very muddy walk to get better shots. Here's a couple of long-range grab shots:
  13. Indeed Bill - I'll probably be there for the third year in a trot if I'm free.
  14. Definitely Bill, much better via the Upper Forth Crossing/Clackmannanshire Bridge or whatever it's called!
  15. Nope Bill, although I do recall hearing about them in the past.
  16. Hi Bill Funnily enough I was in that very shop the other week after my other half told me there 'were some of those tractors you collect'. Indeed, there are a handful (literally) of UH tractors. Mostly a shop for rail enthusiasts though.
  17. It's a Loglogic Softrak machine with possibly with a front PTO - see http://www.softrak-atv.com/ I think I recall seeing a shaft when I saw this working from a distance a couple of years ago, but then again, that does look like hydraulics... I used to work at the RSPB Nature Reserve in Lochwinnoch on the other side of Scotland and they got a company called Cloverleaf Groundcare in for a few years in the late 90s/early 00s to cut reeds and sedge using a Softrak and fingerbar mower, see photos below.
  18. More outstanding photos Kojak - you well and truly deserve a lollipop!
  19. Bloody hell! Great shots, keep them coming!
  20. Welcome Atte! I've been really impressed by your new model posts - well done and keep up the good work!
  21. This guy didn't ask, he just didn't read and did not withdraw his bid - he was just presumtious. Nothing guaranteed to get more up my nose than this.
  22. The madness of eBay strikes again - I recently sold a few items all with postage to UK only. What did I receive - about three questions 'how much to send to Turkey' being one of them. Then the winner of one item (despite me mailing him to alert him) was from Denmark! He then tries to get me to post to Denmark. I eventually sold it to second highest bidder and took the issue up with eBay. Wait for it - I can't leave negative feedback - apparently sellers can no longer leave negative feedback for buyers. I don't use eBay that often to sell items and this experience has firmly reminded me why.
  23. Yeah, not enough machinery to photograph though, Bill!
