  1. Hi all Went along to the above today - see http://www.buas.org/show/ for further details - where a fair few items of machinery were on display. The photographs start off with a potato harvesting demonstration and then go on around the rest of the trade stands. Mostly a 'grab-bag' of shots which I hope you enjoy.
  2. Hi Bill - I hope to make it along on the Saturday as per usual.
  3. Wonderful shots, very atmospheric. Great to see how things are done 'across the pond'. Thanks again
  4. Thanks for a great series of photographs - I can't make the show again this year so this is really making me green with envy
  5. Nice bit of kit - thanks for the piccies!
  6. A lovely set of pics, Bill - thanks for sharing! Re: MF165 and unknown implement - is it perhaps for turnips or beet? Some elements of it look a bit like what I've seen harvesting fodder beet. I'm sure someone on here will know for sure.
  7. I know what you mean, Bill. Quite often a friendly smile and a thumbs up are enough for the operator to stop open the door and start a conversation. Very rarely have I got the 'p*ss off' expression and never have I been told that! After all, it's nice when someone takes an interest in your work, is it not? A good set of photographs, incidentally!
  8. Luckily I don't Bill, but I was finding chopped grass in every place known to man for hours afterwards! :'(
  9. Thanks as always for your kind comments guys. Beautiful day, great machines, pleasant scenery - what more can you ask for? Well, perhaps a barbeque and some 'beverages'...
  10. ...the last installment... ...and finally...the end of the last row hits the back of the trailer:
  11. As promised, here's a batch of photographs from yesterday. About 300 were taken over about five hours in glorious conditions, don't worry you're all only getting about a dozen or so! A great many thanks again to David Burnett and the other guys contracting at Wolfclyde Farm near Biggar in South Lanarkshire who permitted me to get such close shots. Cheers guys!
  12. Here's some info straight from the experts http://www.butterfly-conservation.org/article/9/100/butterfly_migration_is_biggest_for_years.html
  13. There's been a HUGE influx of these very fast flutterbies in Britain in the past few weeks...I finally managed to grab a photograph of one at rest!
  14. As promised, here's the first batch of photographs of the grass being lifted at Wolfclyde Farm near Biggar in South Lanarkshire. In this batch, there's just some shots of the rake - I'll post some of the Jaguar and tractors/trailers tomorrow or Wednesday. Enjoy!
  15. Back down at Biggar in Lanarkshire today to take some shots of the same equipment in the same field as 31 May last year. This year, however, the weather was even brighter (and warmer) and I've got a better camera - I'm pretty pleased with the results. Many thanks again to David Burnett and the farmer at Wolfclyde Farm. I'm hoping to get back down on Monday when the crop will be lifted.
  16. Headed along for a short while on Saturday morning and as usual a great selection from G&M and nice to have a chat with Graham and Michelle. Good to catch up with BC too (hope you didn't spend too much!). A nice little event!
