  1. i remember the 10006 tractors , there was a tractor puller based on one of these deutz either 80006 or 10006 called eltrac way run by eltrac deutz .
  2. the uk tractors had RSM cabs with rear hinged doors
  3. someone said bring back the birch - no way ! bring back the death penalty for the scum bag that did it
  4. at that speed must have knocked them flying ;D 65 mph too fast anyway
  5. [quote author= no justification for that. some one pulled a prank on an fellow apprentice years ago and ended up in hospital with two broken legs for their trouble fnny enough he wasnt so clever anymore and the only witness didnt see a thing ! heavy price for dropping the lads radio
  6. little bit too far north the atkinsons farm at kirkby underwood, rippingale, dunsby and haconby
  7. lely have already got robotic scrapers and feed pushers now! aswell as robotic parlours- scary stuff
  8. bob suggestion brilliant, bob might know claas did that chopper built into trailer aswell that would look well too.
  9. sorry was blinkered into ready built tractors- yes make it three! nigel does them built too i think? if yes put it up three it is
  10. ford model collectors only need two model suppliers/builders for the best models around DBP and IM , High qaulity models spanning a number of years and model series.
  11. from the brochure rated at 75 horsepower, the 6640 85 and 7740 95 horsepower respectively
  12. the 7740 rated at 95 horsepower, same block used on all four cylinder tractors , probably some examples around with retro fit turbos
  13. thats the good thing in 1/32 land none of the real issues matter just great models. every one can stick up for their favourite brand but at the end of the day ask any fitter of any brand whether the fact is liked or not they all have their problems at some stage. ford and later new holland lost customers hand over fist to john deere even in my ford days. massey had problems late 3000/6100 series i gather jd got there issues now!. no matter what colour they have issues. getting back to main topic these 40 series going to make an impressive line up especially continuity following older fords from dbp all great models together.
  14. is the claas on tracks ben atkinsons combine?.
  15. interesting topical subject, the 3000 and 3600 series were height of technology in their day what is the census of opinion on numbers of them still around. only speak of my area but dont see them around perhaps these might be an indication to the longevity of tractors such as 8690?.
  16. last of the ford tractors although used bit of fiat technology, the lat gret fords where generation 111 and powershift 30 series last of true fords. i had a good grounding as a mechanic working on fords. first the rubiks cube gearbox disaster and lack of gearbox layshaft pressure lubrication. then the h pattern conversions, then the beginning of long running porous blocks saga. the tw series pto pack mods , tw brake problems and endless service bulletins. the saying use to be at fords training school at boreham you will never get board working on a ford. dont know about reliability problems on 40 series as i moved on to work on better machines as jcb service engineer.
  17. most smaller 40 series tractors in my part of the country were 66 and 7740 tractors although a small number of 5640 tractors mostly two wheel drive sl models. these im model tractors are fantastic models. the 5640 at 75 horsepower i suspect would have been a little underpowered in the sle specification with power hungry change on the move transmission never the less a very high specification tractor in its day for its size.
  18. well said at that sort of pricing its great models at great price and extremely collectable.
  19. obviously they are not looking for too many uk customers then - glad the rest of the world can support there buisness
  20. nice practical modifications for carpet farming. what is the weight you have on valtra?
  21. you have got e bay to blame for artificial high prices over value of things
