Ditching Bucket For Track Machine
nick a replied to Murray's topic in Other Conversions & Scratch Builds
a ditch maintenance bucket (DMB) would be same as a grading bucket but have considerably more holes in it to let water drain through -
Last range to carry the ford name but used a lot of fiat technology
-
common as you like - tractors fine from there back
-
Knowing these little tractors quite well probably not the MF part broken down - usual culprit glazed up perkins engine burning oil or pushing it out the exhaust or leaking rear main seal.
-
Yes i fully agree with you there Johnny i like the original best in real terms, i dont have Tyro version so will settle for second best with ROS version .
-
Thankyou for sharing those pictures i thought they had done a 500 horsepower tractor, that the one Tyro Toys built?

Schluter produce a factory built 500 horsepower tractor??
-
The tractor has been used at field days and demonstrations as a play thing - my understanding it has never been a proper fully fledged farm tractor!. It was built by brothers Ludwig & Manfred Streitberger the v6 Man engine came from a motor yacht! and some transmission parts were be-spoke made, out wardly looking its very much Schluter but some of the tractor is a bitsa- but to be fair Schluter built tractors did use MAN engines.Bringing the subject around to including the tractor in a model collection as said to my knowledge the PROFI GIGANT SCHLUTER was not a production farm tractor only a modified tractor. The Versatile BIG ROY WAS ONLY A PROTOTYPE/CONCEPT TRACTOR so falls into same category, the big bud 747 was a one off tractor built and used for farm work.Out the three mentioned the BIG BUD only classed as a true farm tractor. Everybody collects what they like thats the meaning of a hobby real or model wise!.

The Massey lads "NIPPER" 265 tractor puller was the most sucessful smallest cubic capacity superstock tractor puller built in europe. The team did actually build a tractor puller built of a grey fergie too! but it was never ran as a seriuos contender. The NIPPER 265 followed The Massey Lads highly successful "FUNKY GIBBON" A HIGHLY TURBOCHARGED mf590 the last tractor ran by the team was an MF 2775 i believe with a v8 ah the good old days!.

impressive on scale -theres no doubt but there is a lot of whats there not my cup of tea !.

What Britains farm item had the longest production run
nick a replied to MDFord's topic in Britains Farm Models
i would guess two wheeled tipping trailer longest running model with various part numbers and colours starting out as 130F in 1949? last versions in sets around 2005. -
probably a sekura s67 safety cab with round top mud guards on a 6600 seen a few of those around
-
Aimed at different markets- i myself as a shelf/model collector see potential in these siku tractor toys. By adding the right colours into the cabs, adding drivers and fitting front end weights or more realistic front hitch they make interesting additions and projects- look further than first impressions is my thought when viewing these releases.

Perkins engines always did need working hard and bedding in too makethem perform well, the biggest issue with them was work them hard and bed them in or they would glaze up very easily . Not uncommomn for AD3.152/ A4.236 AND A4,248 engines to be gutless blue smokers and require new rings and glaze busting. get a good one well bedded in good engines with a nice healthy bit of brown n black smoke.

Is Zwolle the best Farm model show in Europe?
nick a replied to Hillview's topic in Events and Shows
i agree and dis-agree with comments about zwolle being better than our shows. i have been to the shows in netherlands and was blown away by the shows stunning/awesome. The thing to remember is different styles and practices of agriculture reflecting european farming. The machinery and displays depict this - so if one was to go you cannot compare like for like with uk and irish farming/models. -
last page of agritechnica models 2009 post shows the position just as steve has said
-
i expect its a convo , newholland bits on an existing chassis so nothing to get excited about, being e bay will only make over inflated stupid price anyway. better off going to a respected custom builder here on the forum and coming to an agreement. at least then you are rest assured of a decent job done.
-
any pictures please?
-
the picture found on e bay!

RSM WERE RETFORD SHEET METAL COMPANY who also built similar safety cabs for fitment to Belarus tractors. Some continental cabs did come with Deutz tractors prior to the safety cab leglislation of 1st september 1977
