  1. will post some more up when i get them resized
  2. trying to get my photo album into order so i thought i'd post a few of the tractors i've used /abused in the past . unlike today where you have digital camers,& cam phones , most were done with crappy point'n'shoot hanamex camera , as you'll appreciate, the film cost money to buy & develop so i never managed to remember to get a pic of many of the tractors i've worked with , shame really
  3. you must have the patience of a saint thomas, an incredible build as usual :)
  4. effectively nick , a tachograph is a paper/card disc that is inserted into a device that records all the work done during the drivers day by an automatic scribe. it records the start of my working day , the ammount of time the vehicle has been moving & at what speed ,how long the vehicle has been stationary while the driver does any manual work & a daily rest period that is a legal requirement. & the end of my working day. the drivers day can be no longer than 15 hrs. daily rest should be a minimum of 11 hrs but can be reduced to 9hrs twice a week, when away from base, but these hrs must be made up within two weeks of the weekly rest period the driver is allowed to drive for a period of 9 hrs a day , but can be extended to 10 hrs for two days of that week. the drivers actual driving limit is 45 hrs per week , no more than 90 hrs per fortnight the daily break period is for every 4.5 hours driven, the driver must take a 45 min break, but the break can be split in to two, eg ; i can drive 2 hrs & break for 15 mins , then drive another 2.5 hrs before having to stop for a break of a minimum of 30 mins. if my first break lasts 30 mins , my second also still has to be a minimum of 30 mins thats pretty much the basics . \ there's a lot more than that , but it all gets complicated & boring. at the moment , we have two sets of rules . rules for domestic driving eg; dustcarts, milk collection vehicles , & EU (european union), that covers all other vehicle movements . the tachograph card, is becomeing redundant , as newer technology takes over , any new vehicle now is fitted with a new drivers card recorder , instead of a paper chart the driver is issued with his own card , bit like a credit card with an electronic chip containing all the drivers details , this card records all the same information as a paper card but only for 28 days , so the driver will have to have the card downloaded every month for company records . at the moment very few new vehicles are being pulled over as VOSA (vehicle & operator services agency)/ & the police dont yet understand or have the equipment to read the new drivers cards , bit of a farce really !
  5. where the drivers are concerned it does , but the mill opperatives & office staff have to use this system, in time the drivers weekly sheet will dissapear & the daily sheet will incorparate our start times , but the fear is some drivers clock in but dont insert the tacho till they've loaded & ready to leave the yard , all well & good , but you then have conflicting start times , effectively some drivers might be working 'off the card'which is technically illegal
  6. no the numbers are right , they just dont sell you the winning ticket :D
  7. oh yes hilarious the clocking in thing is a new idea , & doesn't really work with the drivers , we all do it but at the end of the day it's the tacho times that count , & we still have weekly time sheets \
  8. thats a drivers gut that is :D :D welcome to the club mate
  9. how do nath , you going it alone now then or you still on the farm ? :)
  10. absolute beauty of a tractor mate , got to make the mid mount a detatch, unles of course yer going to make another :)

  13. i do pop up round biscesostersiershire every so often , unfortunately not long enough to stop & visit
  14. i'm with colm on this one , would be sacralidge to restore her , hard enough to find tractors like this in original condition as it is , if you want some thing pretty to look at go restore her , if you want some original farming heritige to own , leave her be . when i find one for myself it will be some thing pretty to look at as i sure as hell won't be able to find anything like penny's condition
  15. any way why are you online ? you on strike or sumfin? :D
  16. :o i cant believe you just said that kev well said nash :) just think of all the 35's & 35x's that have been on yard scrapers for years & have some serious battle damage, let alone the corrosiveness of dung & slurry longing to be restored & you have a perfect tinwork, original paintwork, a running original classic , many can only dream of getting hold of such a machine as yours . :( :( feel guilty yet , do ya kev , do ya eh , eh ?
  17. well the cards on the red side so i must have been working that day luke , when did you go in there mate ? hauling something in , or collecting ? :)
  18. welcome to the forum milo1989, hope you enjoy yer self here not much to add to andy's reply , the 590 is a bit of a black sheep as genuine ones are rare, but replacement decals can soon make a 595 into a 590. as of yet i dont think there is a diffinative way of recognising a genuine 590 from the more common 595 other than aged decals
  19. like that mike , a complete transformation from farm to general purpose , are the wheels & drawbar from the cattle boxes , if so it all works well :)
  20. thanks chaps will start takeing more now i can resize them ! phill, most of the work that way is covered by calne mill, it's only the organic stuff i run up there, even then if the loads are going the right way calne will also do the organic but have to collect from bridgwater MDFord ^ mart, thought the 56 would tickle yer fancy's oldford , yer going to have to have a few days off ill, or a sat morn to come for a ride round again mate tris , re;FDI ,i used one a lot at cricket malerbie farm, french built machine ,4w steer, crab& rear steer only options, cant remember the model number but it reflects the weight & reach of the machine eg ;2433= 2.4tns @ 3.3 mtrs . not a bad machine for loading dung on concrete or from the field, but a deadloss for silage clamps. 2 speed shuttle hydrostatic drive , worked well but when the oil warmed up ,a loss of performance would soon follow especially on slopes , very, crude example of joystick controll, bit like the early JCB's 1 lever to opperate two spools kind of arrangement . like most machines , the door windows never really lasted long & the internal boom hyd pipes were a bugger to replace . this was one of the last of this model, the range was revamped & recoloured to grey & orange , very similar in spec, but a bigger engine , same as before though , went well the first few years , but then loss in performance dictated that it was great at all the jobs except pushing up silage . for what it was it was a good tool , but was swapped for a merlo just after i left
  21. merrimoles farm just out by bix, not often i go there but it comes round every so often
