  1. well nothing i saw , & it hasn't happened today , but what did make me frustrated was : i went back to work on wednesday, but didn't fuel up as was going into another mill the next day & would fill up there as it's cheaper fuel than at our yard . On thursday forgot to fuel at dorchester & went off to deliver my 2 load , saw i was on red & decided to use sparkford services . handed the lady my esso fleet card & fuelled up thats £428.00 please. ok put my pin number in & wait collect free coffee & be on my way no put pin number sorry sir your cards blocked what ? you cant use that card can you call esso please *call esso* the cards has been cancelled since wednesday morning sir ? really ? can i use your phone please ? yes *call transport* hello karl please ................... hello karl my fuel card is cancelled ? yes well how do i pay for my fuel ? ah don't fill up at services, come back the yard of fill at another mill can't do that ha,haha, hahahaha, hahaha you haven.......... yes....................... ohh sh** yep ! got another call from head office who paid over the phone but if this had happened after 1730 i'd have been stuffed as they'd have all gone home ! how hard would it have been to put a notice up in the office to say the fuel card wouldn't be working ? i usually fill up & cardiff west ! apparently theres been a delay with our new BP cards , normal train of thought would be to cancell one when the others actually turn up ! not rocket science is it ....................................well apparently it is
  2. apart from sitting a bit nose high , it's a nice conversion mate , why not try fitting a ford 5610 4wd axle next time

  8. all well & good but i don't think bill's landlegend is quite in the heavyweight range ta colm even bargains cost money mate \
  9. unfortunately he's one of those farmers who has loads of sheds that are filled to the brim with unuseable rubbish,& the kit stays outside we have 3 on that reg & are ex-ABN ,GZS,GZT & an artic unit GZU so may well have been bought up round your way paul. There's another GZ? in devon sold from ABN now run by a subbie although still in ABN colours
  10. it probably was an 856, but i wasn't really taking much notice to be honest, as for killing the 956 i could probably beleive that , he also had a french 60 series ford in the yard , it was booted up with american style tread tyres & all all the decals in the cab & safety decals were in french , which sort of gives it away
  11. thanks tim & yes just a bit thanks john , certainly will make it a bit faster john, just bidding on a biggles hat to cope with the extra altitude & wind ! although less beans will eliminate the wind problem ;D thanks sean , as for the loader bracket ? well it's all to do with funds & at the moment there are none
  12. whew at least they know who they are scrap ? ah you mean the 6710 i thought it was an 856 but there was a 956 door down in the nettles ? yes combine lives indoors , but farmer says he may sell it after next season & not bother with corn , as it's just as cheap to buy it in for mixing had to look twice when he drove in to the truck park ! don't see many masseys that vintage round here full stop ! but there was a big massey dealers down that way years back , & he always has a massey loader tractor but prime tractor is now a deere & 5445 + loader certainly do mart , i consider it a perk of the job , that & finding a few bit's like tyres for my tractor & cultivators for lord furgus ! got two sisters going later in the spring GZS & GZT will both be replaced with new scania sleeper cabbed 8 leggers
  13. nice to see the 64 getting a good workout on the cultivator mart ironic really , that you were once one of the forums biggest ford / ford-NH fans here & you've ended up working on an all MF farm thats fate that is mate
  14. bigwood & partners were having a 2 day open day at the market down the road , but was only setting up when i walked walked walked i actually walked down to see mad at work so snapped a few of these
  15. when i got my lorry back the crack in my windscreen had pregressed into the wipe zone so had to get it fixed in the truck park & bristol services & before you ask no it's not marky fitting it ;D out with the old in with the new
  16. here we go a round up of what i've seen lately ! well used & getting harder to find ford 6710 an C-IH 956, also getting difficult to find ......................in this condition my lorry was out & i was called in to cover on a rest day so had to drive this but i did get to some smaller farms i don't get to see with my lorry & found these !
  17. i tyhink the ammount they have perrished bill helped with the bead , as a dozen good taps with the breaker & they were off , & this tractor hasn't got a history of any major dung work so probably explains their condition & yes the rims were very good although you could tell the difference when the 'neww' tyres went on as they just wouldn't sit on the bead when inflating , but copious amounts of soapy water soon sorted that, my mate wanted to come up with a bit of angle iron & try it , but i wasnt that keen \ concrete blocks , no thanks i'll pass
  18. the cracks near the bead, it never looked this bad when they were on & inflated but if these are the original tyres from 1974 they've done well & probably explains such low hours before after the tractor looks much bigger & when driving it it feels much higher ! although he doesn't read this i'd just like to thank Bill (mad's dad ) for the help in the afternoon & the use of his compressor , i was really struggling come the end of the afternoon, a severe lack of exercise & roll ups over the years hasn't helped
  19. well i decided to fit the newto me tyres , so off to see an old employer to borrow a bead breaker, decent jack & some levers & gave it a go , having worked it out, the last time i had to change a rear tractor tyre was back in 1994 :of no wonder the bl00dy things felt so heavy i was certainly fitter back then just as well they wern't PAVT wheels ! as she looked when uncle brian came to see it a few months ago he said they where posibly still the original tyres on it , well when the tyres were off & inspected , there wasn't a single puncture repair ,patch or gator to tube or tyre not bad for a 35 year old tractor , having said that the tyre walls were very flexable with very little resistance due to the amount of cracks & perishing but water was found in the inner tubes so they may well have been balasted at some time
  20. well done chaps looked like a really good show to launch FTF proper got a bit of everything for everyone
