  1. well have to say my experience is largly down to the use of an 8100 valmet , & it certainly won me over as far as i can see they pretty much offer everything an owner / driver would want wether it's basic spec or full option pack !, even a hardcore JD / FORD user i know had to use one a year or so ago , & after the first few hours he was absolutely smitten wouldn't drive anything else they had at the time & that includes a fendt 718, 818 got to say yes they are a good looking tractor
  2. push come to shove tim , i can collect it with the tractor , after all , it's only chard junction if not i was going to see if i could borrow roundoaks, LDV flatbed really ? will try having a look on google later mate i think you'll find , that like us your wife thinks you're wanting the wrong shade of red , just say you wasnt a 35 & she'll agree to your request as for the log splitter , nah , id saw them to manageable lengths to get the wood home then get an electric 4T capacity splitter , saves on fuel & the agro of having to keep hitching it up thanks alex it's nice to have something to play with . i wanted somethng that inspired me in my early years & 100 series masseys were the first tractors ilearnt to drive & work with . i always wanted a 100 series in me old age & thought it'd be a 135 but seeing the prices soon ended that idea, & a 165 would have been my next choice , but the 168 came about so i thought why not
  3. hmmm surely if your going to the effort of typing three letters 'bai' why dont you just type 'boy' it's not rocket science well it obviously is for some if we all started typing in our local dialect none of the posts would make sence. same as text talk , yes it saves characters on the screen & is quick to use on a mobile phone , but to actually go out of your way to type it when all the letters are in front of you makes no sence at all
  4. tidy classic you have there chum
  5. i tried through babelfish translator , but unfortunately it doesn't make much sence , his first post said Moin zusammen, nach dem Treffen von gestern haben wir heute noch schnell Rüben gerodet. Ich hoffe die Bilder finden Gefallen. but translated as Moin together, after the meeting from yesterday we gerodet today still fast carrots. I hope the pictures find favours.

    MF window shopping

trouble with the 230 exhaust was you were breathing the exhaust fumes & most have had upright pipes fitted to them , it was an awfull tractor to scrape cubicles out with , every time you hit the throttle you had a mouth & nose full of diesel fumes
  7. not all of them mike ;D well not at some of the prices there one A25C is a die-cast metal motorart & the other is a cararama same cast but all in plastic , price difference of about £10-£15 ! the cheap 5350 lookalikes are cheapies from the market , but as i told thomas , when starting out , you buy cheap to bulk it out especially ADT's where earthwork company's have dozens of them for real
  8. have you looked at Claas yet stephen? just delivered to a farm in wales that has put an order in for 3 new tractors & a scorpion materials handler , reckons good deals can be had , & the tractors are just about what he wants in terms of size, power, reliability & of course price. also the valtra seem to be getting everywhere , everyone i've talked to who has them hasn't a bad word to say about them
  9. thats turned out nice i must say ! although i'd want to be strapped to the seat when those tyres hit a bump, you'd spend the day slaming your hear against the roof ! \
  10. whoa better late than never lovely pictures of the classic masseys john & what a lovely day to see them on , it's almost like what you saw back in the 70's with those shots, nothing too big or too fancy , just well cared for machinery still doing their jobs after how many years now ?
  11. ooh thats good of you tim , what do you want to do next sunday ? tyre change or cultivator collection ? if it's the cultivator , i'll ring Mr Angell to arange , will give you a ring during the week mate to see how you're fixed
  12. would be nice mate , but soon as you say 'cheap' to any farmer or collector translation problems occurr \ ;D never going to happen mate ,never going to happen wouldn't mind a ford as well as the 168 but not instead of the 168 clean them up john ? ohh i might find something worse than whats already there ;D don't think i wasn't tempted for the trailer wheels john , i was, but bit awkward when one of the workers is chatting to you knowing i was only there for the rears cheap enough indeed tim , may need to knock on Mr Jean's door to see it the tyre irons & bead breaker is available sometime ..............unless you got any ?
  13. well as noted in my on my journeys topic i have managed to find some tyres, theyre a bit bigger than the ones i have at the moment it's running on 16.9/12 x30 these are 18.4/15x30 looked all good when i found them , but on closer inspection one has got a bit of damage in the way of a crack/ split but hope that because of the light work the 168 does it wont affect it , but until they're fitted i cant say . if i was planning on hauling heavy trailers regularly & lifting heavy implements then i don't think they'd be good enough. as they are though i'll take the chance , but will retain the old ones just in case even got the chance to christen my new birthday overalls ;D

    Robbo's Photos

ah thanks for the pics mike , some nice finds there the SAME leopard remind me of a friend who used to drive one 30 miles every friday into town to go clubbing cant see anyone getting away with that now , cant recall where but have used a similar cultivator with the heavy dutiy spring tines on & it was an mf the ford looks well kept although see the door isn't quite a snug fit as it used to be , they always seemed to come adrift at the bottoms \ & the deutz 6.10 is a corker , i dare say a farm in a coastal location has done her no favours either that or she's been hiding under dung or feretilizer for a fair few years
  15. that on the road from Winkleigh>Wembworthy>Eggsford was going from Liftondown to Umberleigh already been done i think mark , i'd heard that the chap who does repairs for them now owns it & is planning on doing it up
  16. no pictures of the 24 will try mark , the farmer has a number of farms , & have known of the 265 for a while , but this is the first time i have seen it at this farm , i rarely go to it's resident farm as is 8 wheeler only, the farm is a big ford NH user & it's this 265 as well as a 165 that are the only MF there i have a picture of the 165 further back in this topic but here it is again
  17. thanks john, they're a bit bigger than what i have now , mine are 16/9x30 down to about 25% these are 18.4/12x30 i think ? 50% worn, but undamaged i would hazzard a guess at being front tyres maybe ? soon as i saw them i wanted to ring you john but seeing as i don't have your number & text lord feguson instead ;D thats the good thing about my job , i do get to see bit's n peices about like marky's MF cultivator find , i think i may have found an MF 24 chisiel plough as well , burried in brambles & fit for scrap , been there for years , maybe it's time to find out if the owner will let it be rescued
  18. managed to find a few pics for you been turning here for ages , but the thawing ice has loosened everything up so i got a bit stuck 1594 main tractor on the farm , was just getting it's battery changed nice little MF loader a random 698T outside a workshop in devon rare to find, an original 1980 Vreg 265 with what must be one of the first GKN sankey cabs to be fitted , as the grill is the same style as a 500 series tractor , & the 500's were still being built ! even rarer to find , reasonably good 30in tyres that are still useable & later today they will be coming home to me , i hope
  19. eh ? no it's not tim , you have a red cab 590 with a silver roof , mark means a 2 door red & silver cab. can your 590 power the forager now tim ? i thought you needed 1000pto ? mark nice vids , but never seen a solo trailer loaded rear end first
  20. that looks a joy to drive compared to the so called cab that was fabricated to fit them , , strange to see a 165 on ther as opposed to the usual 135 /3000/ 885 size units i think the best was the DB / Case 90/94 series 2 row turbo beet machines , but i suppose 500 600 series MF units were used on them , although i don't know of any that went to the bother of removing the skid to use as a normal tractor
  21. boil the kettle & leave the wheels in a jug of hot water for 2-3 minutes this should get them supple enough to get them off the wheels
  22. good going murray been a few years since i was a young farmer ,always enjoyed ploughing marathons , back in my day a JD 2850 was brand new new ! as was an MF 3080 !
