    silage 2011

seen a lot of grass down& gone in devon, southwest wales & up round minehead , want to get it cleared ready to rip up ready for maize
  2. agreed, the front tank did fit the tw20/7710/5610 variants, but unlike the big Massey's the ford's front wheels wouldn't steer
  3. sometimes jordan it's better to hang back a bit like tris said , maybe a smaller outfit would suit you just keep an eye out , opertunities usually come from the most unlikely turn of events rush of blood to the head ,sorry about my previous rant , but sometimes it's how it comes across , but all better now
  4. you bl00dy kids are never happy . yer lucky to get near tractors of the like you have nowadays , many of us were shovel & brush boys for more than 2 years without a snif of getting a drive in the crappiest tractor let alone air con CD equiped cabs . nobody owes you a living , stop winging & work yer way up like many of us had to , we all got cars to run, petrol to power them & stupid insurance rates , you add all the utilities, mortgage , & a pension to pay into then have yer moan. if the rates in agriculture were up there with the rest of the industries , most of us would be still there , & you'd have to keep yer shovel & brush for a few more years as you wouldn't get a look in pah tractor drivers i $h!t em
  5. if i get a cattle feed delivery order to marks yard i'll be happy to give you a lift tim , but i cant see that happening any time soon
  6. too many tractors or not, you should be paid to drive the damn thing not run it as well \
  7. i'm glad i'm not the only one not getting this ! sorry but thats like my boss saying he has to deduct the fuel used from my wages ? i'm on say for £400 per week , but the lorry i drive uses at least £250 of diesel a day ! that now means i'd owe my boss £850 ? & i know my wages arnt £1650pw before costs or have i not understood whats going on ?
  8. nice conversion mate , but do people still mess about with push pull ploughs ?
  9. hardy har har gfaaawww. really mark ? i thought the first 240's were released while the last dregs of the 100's were still coming off the line so would still have been red ? . but then only really seen these weights in red
  10. mark what have you done fancy leading johny & sandra astray , looks like blatent encouragement for them to cheat on sandy johny , sandra , better stop smiling when you get home else sandy's going to know you both been up to no good ! ;D
  11. & being a flywheel, it probably handled that crop better than a drum type blower would , only ever used a 51 a couple of times but was a lovely machine to use, i've also tried to chop very dry silage before as well with a jag 60, it was so dry it wouldn't blow it ant sense as would go all fluffy in the spout & block up , i gave up & it was then round baled for haylage which i suppose would have been the better option anyway ! you got any pics of a jag 40 working david ? now they were funny little machines to use , absolutly awfull in really damp grass i found
  12. think you'll find is silage Ol , nice pic david , rare to see a jag 51 still going nowadays , cracking little machines they were
  13. looks like what i saw at a farm last thursday, he had six RedRock 180/14.5t trailers all lined up waiting for silage to start. nice lineup blake must add the farmers trailers wern't lined up on or against a white backdrop , that would have been too sureal \
  14. those wheels really do make the tractor stand out amongst all that greenery ! certainly had a good day for the pics
  15. looks great sam , really liking the build , will the roof be removeable ? i think jez is the only person here to build a fully 'rolled' roller door , but not sure how practical it was to use , i myself managed a corragated up & over door on a britains building , but the runners are up in the roof , maybe a bit unpractical if the roof is removeable , look forward to seeing more
  16. nice build BOR, i can see what you mean about the position of the trumpet housing , with those wheels it should 'fill' the arch more than it does , but it doesn't take anything away from the model it'self. nice job as for wheels for a 565 , try the old TIM's toys tractors , MDFord's 575 looks pretty damn good on them http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,26415.60.html
  17. nice pics as per usual mart , know all about agro with spreaders , i helped with a self drive hire farm with a few spreaders , they never came back like they left & you could spend a few hours cutting out old bale netting & string , even had a set of drag harrows wrapped around the beaters , which was a cutting torch job , & the ammount of damage conctrete blocks do to gearboxes turns out to be very expensive , best off out of it mate
  18. really ? hope you get the right gearing & rear axle ratio in it paul else you'll be cooking clutch plates for a passtime friend of a friend had a cancelled order actros for pulling plant on behalf of hewden hire, from what i gather it was a fleet spec highway hauler & not for heavy applications , so very rarely got to top gear & not enough grunt at low speeds, he really liked the cab though . another merc is on the way but this time spec'd for the job. surprised its 6x2 midlift, & not 6x4 even though you said it's not going to be STGO rated standard actros , or a megaspace
  19. sounds like you'll be fairly busy , but not too busy to take any pictures !
  20. jim was in the process of ordering a new 7610 SQ , but then this came up at a ridiculous price , so it came to me at moolham farm , although i didn't stay for too long as the boss was a bit unpredictable & was a little too fond of a wee dram or two ! The dash cowling was green back then in 87 ! & was an unusual order to be spec'd with the LP roof & front wheel tyre configuration to be paired with the rears , apparently the usual was to have a smaller wheel & bigger tyre on the front of these tractors
