  1. If my mind serves me right. I'm sure fermec did these ones your on about without the backactor, from the factory guy at Stonehaven wont use anything else. 850 is the one without the rear arm 860 as pictured on brochure never seen a 865. Farmer has 850 box on back 860 digger, 950 four wheel steer box on back . Where as the 960 was the back actor type again. If these were converted they made a good job cause it looks like a factory job. Ones i know of don't have the jack leg frame on back as well as box like in photo.
  2. Too true having a family farm but working for a dealer lets you see both sides. We always check prices first but don't knock all the dealer prices, cause we have motor factors like dingbro that some times work out dearer than our parts department. Our local auto electrical repair place charges a small fortune he some times costs more to repair than buy new as well.
  3. I maybe wrong here but don't renault/claas tractors use john deere powertech engines. Or have they changed engine manufacturer. ???
  4. Dont want to start an argument but the higher the amp output of the alternator, I.E 150amp most common these days on mf the higher the price. Even i have heard of mf customers refusing to pay the sort of money, the stores are charging and getting them repaired. Some say diode pack in rear of alternator fails guy sourced one for a £5 fitted it himself saved a few hundred quid. You will find that todays tractors with all there computers and lights, will already be nearing the limit of the alternator output. Without power hungry control boxes and and cameras, lights etc fitted onto implements. But i also think that these mass produced items are expensive. Here's an example a machine i know of no names but it aint a massey three fuel filters two at £49 each and one long water seperator one a whopping £203 through the manufacturer. I wouldn't even buy the machine knowing that , I aint kidding you either. But il find out what the massey 150amp alternator costs.
  5. Not yet just got hold of some decal paper but forgot to get sealer for the ink so it wont smudge. But i will be experimenting to see if i can do decals or not. If it works will post pics of finished tractor.
  6. Do'h Sorry to say this but if you read through you will see that im going to make a bed tiller next. A frame and rotor made already then hopefully, a seperator and planter then onto the harvester
  7. Get on with it i just did this from a couple of photo's no measurements. I agree with you that there's not alot on the market. But i think David Towse does some potato equipment on a site that does britains spares as well, maybe Ive got the name wrong. But the top players in models would sell alot of this kit if they made it, i think theres alot of manufacturers brands from the past and present.
  8. And one of the old nash powering her up, this has been a faithfull old one still on the same rear tyres as when we got her. International 475 perkins power 62hp got alot of memories on this one
  9. Now here's something that may interest some of you. We made a log splitter a few years back and it was fine untill it started to slow up. Then the valve packed up, we fitted another one and it did the same. So we modified it and fitted the splitter to an old irrigator unit frame i picked up free of charge. It uses a geared pump with a ratio of 3-1 pto driven, using one of the diesel tanks now as a oil tank. We also fitted a heavy duty spool valve block, and a extra ram so it tilts up off the ground for moving. Dont ask why but thats the way my father and brother wanted to do it, now i know it looks a bit rough and ready but it works well. Here is some pictures of it chopping lengths of timber for splitting into kindling. H beam only on for making the lengths cut through cleaner.
  10. Around 280acre mostly rough boggy land fair bit of woodland. We only grow around 30acre of barley, as for livestock a few hundred sheep don't know exact numbers. Around 30 cattle various breeds but i hate sheep personally, one minute there fine next there dead. Smelly bloody things aswell.
  11. Thanks for the comments lads hope to make more of this tattie equipment. Looking to make a bedtiller next then maybe a seperator, planter and harvester at some point.
  12. This is my take on the Reekie bedformer, have been on and off this one for a while, The rams are not correctly positioned as this was the smallest materials i had. The ploughs are UH lemken mouldboards joined together. The framework is styrene/plasticard as is the pipe work on the frame. Discs are from the Britain's simba cultivator, and turn as they should. All i need now is decals have to get around to trying to make these. Here is the pics
  13. Looks great never seen a wood spec MB before not even pictures.
  14. Bagma tractor and trailer brake testing, so that were the first Dealership in Scotland to offer this service. Outside in snow at minus 6 at one point, not very nice being frozen all day. It was an eye opener tractor was ok but trailer at farm, with oil braked poorly but with air not a thing. We adjusted them up and improved them 100%, but they still did not meet new regulations coming out. VOSA and the Police are now getting up to speed on this, and are getting concerned about the amount of big tractors on the road overloaded. The trailer wasn't even a third full, and we were almost at gross vehicle weight limit. I haven't read all the In's and outs fully yet,but for those of you pulling weight its gonna get really strict soon. I'm sure the guy from bagma said there was a downloadable document on Tractair the website, and also tractor dealers are now getting leaflets about this. As far as i know John deere and claas are doing there own schemes, we were told what could be the reason for this but I'm not opening a can of worms on here.
  15. These look like Taylors Logs tractors i work with his son. Stuart he gets the wood from Fotheringham estate, where these were last sitting. He also has a county dont know the model and a MF50d digger along with a old military crane lorry.
  16. Found out that some a******e has got my bank details and spent my bloody money. Getting a refund new card and pin number, what a lovely time of year for it. Got me fuming though. > > > > > > > > > Its gonna be ages before i get me new card.
