  1. Is that one of the battery-powered ones?
  2. that David Brown released as part of the prestige series was a re-hashed Ertl model, not off the same tooling as the other limited edition ones with the drivers
  3. How come Britains/Ertl/RC2 dont do gift sets any more. I think theyre a great start for a youngster, and price shouldnt be an issue since people seem to have loads of money for toys and such like nowadays
  4. what length is the trailer alan? Is it not a bit short to have two axles, and why are the wheels so near the middle? I bet you have to be careful to take off the back ones first with that eh?
  5. ...but the AP cabs always have blue mudguards
  6. Call her 'Harriet', you know, like the female of 'Harry'
  7. A friend of mine has 1500 brochures and counting! Beat that!
  8. When I'm spraying, usually with a can, I spray very light coats from a fair distance, say about a foot or fourteen inches, and try to spray each area just once. Ten just build it up using several coats. This way I usually avoid runs, but if they do happen, it sometimes helps to blow hard on it to try push it to the edge or just until it spreads a little. The thing to remember about having the paint or the workpiece warm is that it will make the paint even more runny. Mark is right about specks of dirt, which can be pretty annoying, but I usually only get them when brush painting. Another good tip is to get a shaving brush, you know the type for putting on shaving foam, and use it to clean the models. It works better than anything else I've ever tried
  9. As warm as possible. I tried baking the parts in the oven first for a few minutes once. It worked fine for metal parts but I ended up with a seriously melted plastic cab!!!
  10. Try baerny.de or toyfarmer.de . Theyre both in germany but have some pretty cool stuff

  14. That cab looks nothing like an XL cab, if you used that it would look ridiculous \
  15. Theyre pretty strange wheels/tyres. I wonder what they came off?
  16. Here they are. http://www.farmphoto.com/photography/message.asp?mid=231869 I hadnt time to figure out how to size them down to go on here so I stuck them on Farmphoto P.S. theyre definately there so dont start whinging that you cant see them!
  17. It think the bostic version of that is called Contacta? Works a treat with some stuff if you let it dry a little first before putting both parts together. Its a bit gooey though for small stuff and watch out for the 'strings' as you pull the tube away from the surface
  18. Hey lads just a thought, has anyone ever tried to make on of those outdoor slurry lagoons?. Should be pretty easy using papiere mache and some paint?
  19. Hey Stan what a coincidence, my parents are really friendly with the people who own that, in fact they have two! They live up in Laois and used to draw the beet straight into the factory with them using extended cut down council lorries (theyre great men for the cut down lorries!). The '1200s' are indeed based on truck units with the massey tinwork stuck on top. They still have the truck gear lever sticking up through the floor!! They even still have the air brakes and can do the same speed as the original truck. We went to see them after Fingal during the summer, and I got a few pics so I will try to get them up next week. The guy was saying that the only reason they got away with them taxed as tractors is because they never did hire work, only their own haulage, so the local guards and hauliers turned a blind eye. They still use them for the beet and towing a low loader with a digger
  20. I'd be a bit worried about that zero feedback winning bidder on those items if i were him!!
