Been submitting my SPS 'online' but RPA website has just collapsed, so on here for wee while. 

I do a bit contracting and also employ contractors.

I drill,roll, spray, spread & combine mainly for neighbours or local farms. In some cases I supply seed, pesticides, fert & diesel too so rates vary.

I get a contractor to do jobs where it's not economic for me to buy a machine or I wouldn't have the time (e.g. cutting hedges after harvest) OSR swathing (not done anymore) was another example.

Up here (approx per acre) combining £25, Combination drilling £18, rolling £5, spreading/spraying £4.0, hedgecutting £13.5/hour, net wrap 4 x 4 bales £2.0 each. All will vary due to rates applied, acreage involved, gps variable rate, etc.

Agricultural contracting is so hard, farmers havent a clue whats involved work or money wise,

There's a hell of a lot of farmers who don't know their own costs and will happily plough for a neighbour for £12.5 an acre: the tractor and man costs more than that!

She does look better on those new rear tyres.  Good to see her working a bit.

I like the ballast on the harrows too - but if it does the job. Local 'horsey' guy borrowed my 3065 to drag a cattle grid round his paddocks too.

There is a possibility a haybob could be made at some stage.  (Translate that, Marcus  )

The only thing they dont like are BT cables that have been left overground temporarily,......they make the tractor bark and the belts sing...... :of

This was in a local farm sale a year or so ago.....so there still some about.  This one didn't make the reserve of (I think £25000) but sold afterwards.

It is a 135 skid with 590 bits.

Mother of god!! John that is incredible, not a splodge of glue or thumb print in sight. She is a corker..... she'll be wanting a haybob on the back I reckon.  8)

Like the other models you make these are crackers.

Tell you what, in that first pic, the tractor may look like a model, but the buckrake doesn't.  They are impressive.

I just noticed after I took the pics that I hadn't cut the door handle off - step, yes. But thought probably only Marcus or Marky would notice.

Got it finished the other night. 

The exhaust etc. were all in the 'wrong' places. 

Made a new drawbar, top link bracket, and moved the fuel filler etc.

If I were doing another I'd spray all the UH red to MF super red.

Well a Christmas present posted in December finally arrived  - it was full of modelling goodies too. 

Very smart trailer, there's always a place for the older, smaller gear.

Looks like a tidy job. Got the characteristics of the full size tractor right. 

There is some fairly extreme lumps and bumps dotted about the field.. so not all of it will be cut  \

With Hattie on the front it should double as a Rotavator and level them out a bit. 

Looks like a useful machine and the sideshift will help - this time next week you'll be wanting a bigger one...........

What a great model, most definitely a one off! As said, what a pity MF didn't carry on with this.

I'm busy with the 2wd axle in brass too but made a balls of the track somehow. 

  i have an uncle who was a captain on shell tankers (now retired) he then was drawn out of retirement & travelled the world as a ships safety inspector for a few years then retired again , he refers to himself as a mariner not a sailor    he's got a T20 or 35 now i think 

What was his name? I was Fleet Safety Officer for a while too. I suppose I'm classed as a retired mariner too.

The New Holland has arrived   I've not used it for much more than an hour so far but first impressions are very good Will get some more pictures over the next couple of days as got it until Tuesday morning
