  1. So is it a consideration for the future John or in essance is it not really that far advanced from what you have and trust?

Looking to change my drill as it is 1992 vintage and is generally just wearing out.  :D

Still a bit undecided as to whether to go for a cultivator drill or stick with the good old combination. This year showed that the combi will drill when others can't move........

I think I need a disc drill, SL as it's the difficulty of getting through chopped straw rather than trailing it also need to cut into heavy land more. Like the idea of lifting the coulters too.

It was never really dry enough to roll down this year, Ol and even in those pics it was like a chocolate caramel - dryish on the outside but soft and sticky in the middle  ;D In a dry year the rollers aren't heavy enough but do help to save some moisture.  Maybe I should change my name to 'Heavy Land'  ;)

  2. I'd restore 1 and leave 2 on the face of it, you could polish all day and the glass wouldn't reappear or dents vanish  ;D

One comment I'd like to make is that if you have rusty tractor and it's working every day, well and good, it gets hot and dries out. If it is sitting for long periods without being started, as many collectors machine do, it will just continue to deteriorate even in a 'dry' shed. Scraper tractors and forklifts survive for a long time as although they're in the do-do every day, they are warm & working.....  :)

  3. I'm not scrapping any of it!  ;D

Just wanted to see what the response was - am I nuts for keeping it?  ;D

The discs, plough and rotovator are first on the list for cleaning up. The bale sledge will be used with the MF10 and MF35  ;)

  4. My neighbour is retiring at the age of 81 this year and asked me to tidy up his machinery which was in a hedge bottom (he has no steading) and said I could have it to dispose of as I saw fit.(I've done all his work for the last 20 years)

I've dragged it into the yard and there are a couple of tidier bits which I'll keep but most is not collectable...or is it?  ???

There is also a MF290 he is selling, and stacks of horse harness and ploughs.

Old cultivator and drill plough - not Massey - pale blue paint.
