Have made some good progress with this thanks to the horrid weather! Still have hand and foot throtle, Diff lock, back window and door grab rails to add. Here are some pictures... The camera picks out too many imperfections but in reality once the cab is on the finish is more than acceptable. Well I'm happy with it!

A little more progress today.... Rear linkage made Tool box fitted Steering wheel cut off and replaced with a smaller one. Some painting done Next will be to paint the floor pan then start cab controls.

No more progress yet unfortunatley. I keep finding too much work to do, annoying but I can't say no to people! Oh well at least more more for more models! Better not let the other half see this...

I have to agree with you on this. The gold versions just dont do it for me. I have got some colour variations like the white massey from UH but again It does exist in real life. The only exception to this rule in my collection is the Britains centenary Ford. Although I have likened it to the silver Jubilee version of the real tractor as justification!! Really it comes down to personal preference and as long as gold versions etc are bought they will be produced!

Not sure what linkage to fit yet, may just make one from plasticard. The other option is a pma version.

Here is another attempt at one of Paul's kits.I bought it at spalding and have taken a while to find a suitable front axle for it to give it steering wheels. Karen of Farmmodels had some white metal axles at Toytrac which looked about right. Luckily the axle fits very well as it wasn't cheap at £6! Having cut off the Britains axle I made some new axle mounts out of plastic which allows a good amount of movement up and down. To get the original Britains wheels to fit I cut off the tube that the wheels rotate on on the original axle, drilled them out and then slipped them over the new axle.

Anything bent or damaged then? Any interest from the police or did you manage to get it reloaded without anything being said? Last year mate of mine lost 3 round bales by going round a corner too fast, they rolled around and hit a couple of cars. Police turned up but didn't seem to care just made sure insurance details were exchanged etc.

It certainly does make you think! A couple of months ago a friend of mine was sitting next to me, one minute he was fine the next thing he had collapsed on the floor and that was that! Heart attack out of the blue. He was incredibly fit and healthy and only 25! Not something I want to experiance again. Just no warning was the shocking thing chatting normaly then dead, very sad. Talking to his parents soon after was probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do!

The step by step guide to moving the irrigator is very interesting, thanks for that. I often see a massey round here with a linkage mounted bar offset to one side and wondered what it was usd for, now I know. One other question that i thought of when walking the dog past a working irrigator drum today was that as more pipe is wound on the diameter increases so the pull speed will also increase. Does the drum speed slow or is the difference in water application not enough to wporry about?

The shaft is / was just glued on to the spreader. Mine came easily off when i tried to attach it to a tractor for the first time. I have since drilled a hole in the spreader so that the shaft pushes in, a much more secure fit.

Looks like you've done a good job of that tractor. It may not be 100% accurate but nor is my version or anyone elses at the moment. It is so much better than the Britains attempt and looks superb. :)

Bought these three today, and planed on the Leyland and the County but saw the JD 3650 made by miniagripassion and could not resist! Had a very enjoyable day and was good to meet a few more people from here.
